Real‐time quality and safety monitoring of fruit juice using paper‐based platform
Schematic illustration of a paper‐based biosensor for rapid detection of fruit juice spoilage. Abstract Food spoilage and safety concerns still remain critically challenging within the fruit juice industry, especially as conventional detection methods, though precise, are often too time‐consuming, costly, and reliant on centralized laboratories.

This study shows the protective effects of potential probiotic strain of Pediococci strains against diarrheal Escherichia coli strains in Caenorhabditis elegans model system. The E. coli strains resulted in severe morphological and physiological damage to the worm whereas the probiotic interventions were able to reduce these damages.

Kinetics of the reduction of metalloproteins by chromous ion [PDF]
The reduction of Cu(330) in Rhus vernicifera laccase by chromous ion is 30% faster than reduction of Cu(614) at room temperature [pH 4.8, µ = 0.1 (NaCl)], and two parallel first-order paths, attributed to heterogeneity of the protein, are observed at ...

Salt‐induced nutritional and metabolic shifts in halophytes: implications for food security
Abstract Plant species vary in their response to salinity: some crops show a degree of salt tolerance, while halophytes – whether wild or cultivated – are characterized by a high capacity to thrive under saline conditions. Halophytes are considered a source of valuable secondary metabolites with potential economic value, yet they might also produce ...
