Renal and adrenal responses to [des-Asp1]angiotensin I in the dog

American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology, 1978
There is evidence for the endogenous generation of [des-Asp1]angiotensin II (AIII) from a nonapeptide precursor, [des-Asp1]angiotensin I ([des-Asp1]AI). In the present study, the effects of equipressor doses of exogeneously administered [des-Asp1]AI and AIII on renal function and plasma aldosterone concentration were compared. Intravenous infusion of [

The ASP1 gene of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, encoding the intracellular isozyme of l-asparaginase

Gene, 1994
Saccharomyces cerevisiae produces two L-asparaginases (ASPs), intracellular ASP I and cell-wall ASP II. In this report, the ASP-I-encoding gene, ASP1, has been identified by homology cloning based on the structures of ASPs from other organisms. Its deduced protein product has a subunit M(r) of 41,414, and shows substantial sequence homology to the ...

Characterization of Immunoreactive Angiotensin in Canine Cerebrospinal Fluid as Des-Asp1-Angiotensin II

Clinical Science, 1978
1. Immunoreactive angiotensin II was measured in cerebrospinal fluid of four normal dogs. 2. The migration of this immunoreactive angiotensin II on polyacrylamide-slab gel electrophoresis was identical with the migration of the heptapeptide, Des-Asp1-angiotensin II, in each case. 3.

Formation of angiotensin III from [des-Asp1]angiotensin I in the mesentric vasculature

American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1979
The effects of [des-Asp1]angiotensin I and angiotensin III on mesenteric blood flow were compared in 15 pentobarbital-anesthetized dogs. These agonists were administered as bolus injections directly into the vasculature supplied by the superior mesenteric artery.

A comparative study of two structurally related analogs of Asp1-Ile5-angiotensin II

Naunyn-Schmiedeberg's Archives of Pharmacology, 1974
Two new synthetic analogs of Asp1-Ile5-angiotensin II, Sar1-Ile5-Ile8-angiotensin II and (N,N-dimethyl) Gly1-Ile5-Ile8-angiotensin II which are chemically related, have a potent competitive antagonistic action against Asp1-β-amid-Val5-angiotensin II on the rabbit isolated aorta, rat ascending colon, isolated perfused heart of cat and in vivo on the ...

Synthesis, characterization, and biological activity of Nα-(N-fluoresceinthiocarbamoyl)-(Asp1, Ile5)-angiotensin II

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1982
Abstract A fluorescent analog of angiotensin II was synthesized by reacting fluorescein 5′-isothiocyanate with (Asp1, Ile5)-angiotensin II. Nα-(N-Fluoresceinthiocarbamoyl)-(Asp1, Ile5)-angiotensin II was purified by chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and Sephadex G-25. Analysis of the analog by thin-layer chromatography, thin-layer electrophoresis, and

Evidence that des-Asp1 angiotensin II mediates the renin-angiotensin response.

Circulation Research, 1976
Studies were undertaken to compare and evaluate the influence of angiotensin II and its heptapeptide fragments, des-Asp-1-angiotensin II, at various receptor sites for angiotensin in both dogs and rats. Receptor sites evaluated were those which are found in the glomerulosa, reticularis, and fasiculata of the adrenal cortex, in the renal arterioles and ...

In vivo conversion of [des-Asp1]-angiotensin I to [des-Asp1]-angiotensin II in conscious sheep.

Clinical and experimental pharmacology & physiology. Supplement, 1983
1. A method is described for the measurement of [des-Asp1]-angiotensin I (ANG I 1/2) in blood. 2. Exogenous ANG I 1/2 was rapidly metabolized in conscious sodium replete sheep. 3. Inhibition of angiotensin converting enzyme activity by SQ 14 225 (captopril) abolished the production of angiotensin III (ANG III) and the pressor response to infused ANG I ...

Binding interaction between a queen pheromone component HOB and pheromone binding protein ASP1 of Apis cerana

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2015
The honeybee's social behavior is closely related to the critical response to pheromone, while pheromone binding proteins (PBPs) play an important role in binding and transferring those pheromones. Here we report one known PBP, antennal special protein 1(ASP1), which has high affinity with a queen mandibular pheromone component, methyl-p ...

[Des-Asp1] angiotensin II: mediator of the renin-angiotensin system?

Federation proceedings, 1977
Angiotensin II and its C-terminal heptapeptide fragment, [des-Asp1]angiotensin II, influence a variety of angiotensin receptors in a qualitatively similar manner. On the basis of potency studies, angiotensin II appears to be the important mediator of the renin-angiotensin system at the peripheral arteriolar receptors to maintain arterial blood pressure.
