Metabolism of Dethiobiotin in Aspergillus niger
Investigation of the metabolism of d- and dl-dethiobiotin in Aspergillus niger has revealed the following. 14C-5-Methyl-2-oxo-4-imidazolidine-butyric acid (the 2-carbon shorter side chain analogue) and 14C-5-methyl-2-oxo-4-imidazolidine-acetic acid (the 4-carbon shorter side chain analogue) have been characterized following their isolation by charcoal

Multifunctional Conductive Nanofibers for Self‐Powered Glucose Biosensors
This work develops a novel self‐powered glucose biosensor using polycaprolactone/polypyrrole/graphene oxide (PCL/PPy/GO) nanofibers integrated with a triboelectric nanogenerator. The system achieves high glucose detection sensitivity and generates 63 V from motion, combining robust mechanical strength with eco‐friendly energy harvesting.

Combinatorial control of gene expression in Aspergillus niger grown on sugar beet pectin
Aspergillus niger produces an arsenal of extracellular enzymes that allow synergistic degradation of plant biomass found in its environment. Pectin is a heteropolymer abundantly present in the primary cell wall of plants.

Regioselective chemo-enzymatic syntheses of ferulate conjugates as chromogenic substrates for feruloyl esterases [PDF]
Generally, carbohydrate-active enzymes are studied using chromogenic substrates that provide quick and easy color-based detection of enzyme-mediated hydrolysis. In the case of feruloyl esterases, commercially available chromogenic ferulate derivatives are both costly and limited in terms of their experimental application.

Generic model of morphological changes in growing colonies of fungi [PDF]
Fungal colonies are able to exhibit different morphologies depending on the enviromental conditions. This allows them to cope with and adapt to external changes. When grown in solid or semi-solid media the bulk of the colony is compact and several morphological transitions have been reported to occur as the external conditions are varied.

A Touch Enabled Hemodynamic and Metabolic Monitor
This work presents a touch‐based hybrid platform for simultaneous monitoring of vital signs and sweat metabolites. With a simple tri‐finger touch of 4–6 min, users can concurrently get to know their glucose, uric acid, cortisol levels from fingertip sweat, along with blood pressure and heart rate.

The dynamic control of gene expression is important for adjusting fluxes in order to obtain desired products and achieve appropriate cell growth, particularly when the synthesis of a desired product drains metabolites required for cell growth.

Andisols have low phosporus availability because of amorphous (non-crystalline) of high allophane. This problem may be overcome by application of organic materials and utilization of phosphate solubilizing microbes such as Aspergillus niger.
