Advancing Clinical Medicine with Raman Spectroscopy: Current Trends and Future Perspectives
Raman spectroscopy and microscopy may become excellent tools in clinical medicine, including hematology, oncology, infectious diseases, neurology, gastroenterology, reproductive medicine, rheumatology, and cardiovascular research. However, many challenges such as signal interference, standardization issues, and limited clinical application need to be ...

Pathological phenotypes of astrocytes in Alzheimer’s disease
Astrocytes are involved in various processes in the central nervous system (CNS). As the most abundant cell type in the CNS, astrocytes play an essential role in neuronal maintenance and support, synaptic activity, neuronal metabolism, and amyloid-beta ...

A Systematic Approach to Analyze T Cell Migration: Application to Mouse Melanoma Tumors
The results show that a minimum of two migration speeds can be rigorously identified from the data with cells switching between a fast, persistent migratory state, and a slow, random migration state. These results will help in identifying genetic factors that influence rapid migration, among other applications, such as quality control for CAR‐T cell ...

Spinal astrocyte-derived interleukin-17A promotes pain hypersensitivity in bone cancer mice
Spinal microglia and astrocytes are both involved in neuropathic and inflammatory pain, which may display sexual dimorphism. Here, we demonstrate that the sustained activation of spinal astrocytes and astrocyte-derived interleukin (IL)-17A promotes the ...

LRRC8A Regulates Outer Hair Cell Volume and Electromotility and is Required for Hearing
This study identifies LRRC8A‐dependent volume‐regulated anion channels (VRACs) as essential for cochlear outer hair cells' electromotility and auditory signal amplification. LRRC8A deficiency disrupts cell volume control, impairs auditory sensitivity, and causes deafness, while targeted LRRC8A re‐expression restores auditory function.

Integrin α8‐Mediated Pericyte Morphogenesis Controls Blood‐Brain Barrier Integrity
This study highlights that ITGA8 impacts pericyte morphology and function, both crucial for BBB integrity, via RhoA/ROCK signaling, thus influencing TGF‐β1 activation through cytoskeletal tension and ECM interactions. Notably, in post‐ischemic recovery models, ITGA8 deficiency exacerbates vascular dysfunction by impairing pericyte‐mediated BBB ...
