Connectionless communications using the Asynchronous Transfer Mode [PDF]
For a large number of applications, there is a strong need for the provision of a connectionless service by the B-ISDN. However, the cell-based ATM, which is used for switching and multiplexing in this public telecommunication network, is a connection ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

SpectraTrack: megapixel, hundred-fps, and thousand-channel hyperspectral imaging
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) finds broad applications in various fields due to its substantial optical signatures for the intrinsic identification of physical and chemical characteristics.

An ionospheric anomaly is the irregular change of the ionosphere. It may result in potential threats for the ground-based augmentation system (GBAS) supporting the high-level precision approach.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

When heat casts a spell on the DNA damage checkpoints [PDF]
Peregrine Laziosi (1265–1345), an Italian priest, became the patron saint of cancer patients when the tumour in his left leg miraculously disappeared after he developed a fever. Elevated body temperature can cause tumours to regress and sensitizes cancer

To ensure the integrity of a ground-based augmentation system (GBAS), an ionosphere-free (Ifree) filtering algorithm with dual-frequency measurements is employed to make the GBAS free of the first-order ionospheric influence. However, the Ifree algorithm

Design of a secure unified e-payment system in Nigeria: A case study [PDF]
The automatic teller machine (ATM) is the most widely used e-Payment instrument in Nigeria. It is responsible for about 89% (in volume) of all e-Payment instruments since 2006 to 2008. Some customers have at least two ATM cards depending on the number of

Formulating the cognitive design problem of air traffic management [PDF]
Evolutionary approaches to cognitive design in the air traffic management (ATM) system can be attributed with a history of delayed developments. This issue is well illustrated in the case of the flight progress strip where attempts to design a computer ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
