Effect of Electroacupuncture at Quchi and Zusanli Acupoints on Peri-infract Striatal Neural Autophagy in MCAO Rats

open access: yes康复学报, 2016
Objective:To observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at the Quchi (LI11) and Zusanli (ST36) acupoints on peri-infract striatal neural autophagy in middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) -induced ischemia and reperfusion injured rats. Methods ...

mTOR inhibition in Q175 Huntington’s disease model mice facilitates neuronal autophagy and mutant huntingtin clearance

open access: yeseLife
Huntington’s disease (HD) is caused by the expansion of the polyglutamine stretch in huntingtin protein (HTT) resulting in hallmark aggresomes/inclusion bodies (IBs) composed of mutant huntingtin protein (mHTT) and its fragments. Stimulating autophagy to

Az autofágiában szereplő kinázok és foszfatázok azonosítása in vivo RNSi teszteléssel ecetmuslicában = An in vivo RNAi screen of Drosophila kinases and phosphatases involved in autophagy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Az autofágia során a sejt saját citoplazmája kerül lizoszómális lebontásra és újrahasznosításra. Az éhezés a folyamat nagymérvű indukciójához vezet.

Saikosaponin A Inhibits Migration/Invasion and Triggers Cell‐Cycle Arrest and Autophagy‐Induced Cell Death in HCT116 Cells and In Vivo

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Saikosaponin A from Radix Bupleuri inhibited colorectal cancer HCT116 cells with low toxicity. SSA induced S/G2‐M cell cycle arrest and triggered autophagy via mTOR inhibition. SSA suppressed metastasis by blocking PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. SSA significantly reduced tumor growth without apparent toxicity.

SKD1 AAA ATPase-Dependent Endosomal Transport is Involved in Autolysosome Formation.

open access: yesCell Structure and Function, 2002
Mouse SKD1 AAA ATPase is involved in the sorting and transport from endosomes; cells overexpressing a dominant-negative mutant, SKD1(E235Q) were defective in endosomal transport to both the plasma membranes and lysosomes (Yoshimori et al., 2000). In the present study, we demonstrated that overexpression of SKD1(E235Q) using an adenovirus delivery ...

RVG‐Modified BMSCs‐Derived Small Extracellular Vesicles Loaded With miR‐21 Alleviate Neuronal Injury Resulted From Excessive Autophagy via Targeting PTEN/Akt/mTOR Pathway After Cerebral Ischaemia

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
Bioengineered brain targeting RVG‐modified BMSCs‐derived small extracellular vesicles loaded with miR‐21 alleviate excessive autophagic neuronal injury after cerebral ischaemia via PTEN/Akt/mTOR pathway. ABSTRACT Ischaemic stroke (IS) leads to tragic disability and high adult mortality, while there are limited therapeutic measures for it.

Cholesterol-rich lysosomes induced by respiratory syncytial virus promote viral replication by blocking autophagy flux

open access: yesNature Communications
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) hijacks cholesterol or autophagy pathways to facilitate optimal replication. However, our understanding of the associated molecular mechanisms remains limited.

Role of COL1A1 and CD44 in Modulating JAK1/STAT3‐Mediated Autophagy for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, Volume 42, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe trauma to the central nervous system that often leads to motor and sensory dysfunction in patients, severely affecting their quality of life. Autophagy plays a role in the pathological process of SCI, but the specific mechanism of autophagy in this case is unknown.

Selective cell death of latently HIV-infected CD4+ T cells mediated by autosis inducing nanopeptides. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Despite significant advances in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV) infection, antiretroviral therapy only suppresses viral replication but is unable to eliminate infection. Thus, discontinuation of antiretrovirals results in viral
