Reaction of aromatic azides with strong acids: formation of fused nitrogen heterocycles and arylamines

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 1999
We describe in this paper the action of trifluoroacetic acid, trifluoromethanesulfonic acid and aluminum chloride upon ortho-substituted aryl azides to form indoles, azepines and arylamines in good yields.

Optimizing Angiopep‐2 Density on Polymeric Nanoparticles for Enhanced Blood–Brain Barrier Penetration and Glioblastoma Targeting: Insights From In Vitro and In Vivo Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Angiopep‐2 peptide density on polymeric nanoparticles significantly impacts blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration. This study explores this nuanced relationship using various in vitro models and in vivo assays, revealing that dynamic models better predict BBB penetration.

Polymorphism and thermodynamic ground state of Silver fulminate studied from van der Waals density functional calculations

open access: yes, 2014
Silver fulminate (AgCNO) is a primary explosive, which exists in two polymorphic phases namely orthorhombic (\emph{Cmcm}) and trigonal (\emph{R$\bar{3}$}) forms at ambient conditions.

Strategies to Design and Optimize Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Expansion in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

Sodium Pentazolate: a Nitrogen Rich High Energy Density Material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Sodium pentazolates NaN5 andNa2N5, new high energy density materials, are discovered during first principles crystal structure search for the compounds of varying amounts of elemental sodium and nitrogen. The pentazole anion N5- is stabilized in the condensed phase by sodium Na+ cations at pressures exceeding 20 GPa, and becomes metastable upon release
