Ammine Complexes of Na-, Ag-, Mn-, and Zn-Azides

open access: yes, 2016
The synthesis of ammine metal azides is achieved through a simple route in liquid ammonia solution. Azides of silver, sodium, manganese, and zinc were obtained as ammine complexes from liquid ammonia and the solid compounds were characterized.

Mechanically Programmable DNA Hydrogel Microparticles for 3D Cellular Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
DNA hydrogel microparticles are designed to exhibit controllable viscoelasticity and stiffness across three orders of magnitude from 30Pa$30 \,\mathrm{Pa}$ to 6.5kPa$6.5 \,\mathrm{kPa}$. They are uptaken into fibroblast spheroids where they are actively remodeled by cellular forces depending on their mechanical properties.

Convenient synthesis of sulfonyl azides using PEG-400 as an efficient and eco-friendly reaction medium

open access: yes, 2013
Sulfonyl azides have efficiently been synthesized via a convenient and environmentally benign procedure, in which sulfonyl chlorides undergo nucleophilic substitution reaction with sodium azide in PEG-400 under mild conditions.

Mutagenicity of Alkyl Azides.

open access: yesBiological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1995
Alkyl azides showed mutagenicity for S. typhimurium TA100 strain with S9 mix. However, no significant activity was observed for TA98 either with or without S9 mix or for TA100 without S9 mix. On the other hand, 3-azido-1,2-propanediol showed the enantioselective activity regardless of S9 mix.

Alkynes and Azides: Not Just for Click Reactions. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We recently reported two unexplored reactivities of alkynes and azides. The first method reacts nucleophilic alkynes and electrophilic azides to synthesize sulfonyl-substituted 1,5-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles.
