Identification and Genomic Analysis of the First Salmonella typhimurium Monophasic Variant 1,4,[5],12:i:‐ Isolate Harbouring a Chromosomally Integrated blaNDM‐5

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study reports the first clinical isolate of the monophasic variant of Salmonella typhimurium (serotype 1,4,[5],12:i:‐) ST34 harbouring a chromosomally integrated blaNDM‐5. The ~11 kb resistance region is flanked by two directly oriented IS26 elements, forming an IS26‐composite transposon.
