Effects of donor oocytes and culture conditions on development of cloned mice embryos
Mice have been successfully cloned from somatic and embryonic stem (ES) cells using the "Honolulu method." In the present study, different donor oocytes and different culture conditions were compared to evaluate the developmental potential of nuclear ...

This study uncovers a metabolic‐epigenetic axis licensing zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in mouse embryos. A developmental decline in NAD+ levels activates PARP7, which mono‐ADP‐ribosylates and stabilizes UHRF1. This modification promotes the establishment of permissive histone acetylation marks, thereby facilitating timely ZGA.

B6D2F1 hybrid males that continued to demonstrate male sexual behavior after long-term orchidectomy (“maters”) have significantly more tau, synaptophysin and spinophilin in the MPOA (A-C) and more synaptophysin and spinophilin in the medial amygdala (D-E)

Performance of C57BL/6J, DBA/2J, and B6D2F1 mice in a free-operant avoidance task [PDF]
Male mice (Mus musculus) 12–16 weeks of age from the C57BL/6J and DBA/2J inbred strains and B6D2F1 hybrids were trained at one of two shock levels (.5 or 2.0 mA) in a wheel-turn avoidance task during one 60-min session. Following two 10-min blocks during which no shock was given, a free-operant avoidance program was activated that required the animal ...

Gonadal Steroid-Independent Sexual Behavior in Female and Male B6D2F1 Gonadectomized Mice
Mechanisms underlying the regulation of either male or female reproductive behavior in the absence of gonadal hormones are not well understood. Further investigation will lead to better understanding of the prevalent individual differences observed in ...

Microtubule Inner Protein CFAP77 Contributes to Sperm Motility and Male Fertility in Mice
ABSTRACT Background Sperm motility is essential for male fertility, and its regulation is dependent on the structural integrity of the axoneme. The axoneme consists of a conserved “9+2” microtubule arrangement and is supported by microtubule inner proteins. However, the functional significance of many microtubule inner proteins remains unclear.

An Outflow Tract Myocardium‐Specific Enhancer at the Sema3c Locus During Heart Development
Focusing on an OFT‐specific differentially accessible region, in the present study, we defined a distal OFT myocardial enhancer whose activity depends on GATA binding sites. This enhancer provides insight into the mechanisms underlying spatially restricted Sema3c expression involved in OFT development.

Fullerol treatment does not interfere with GVL in mice with experimental GVHD.
GVHD was induced by the transfer of splenocytes from allogeneic (C57BL/6J) donors to B6D2F1 mice. GFP+P815 cells were injected i.v. into the B6D2F1 recipients on day 0 of transplantation.
