Aging is associated with reduced vasodilation to insulin in subcutaneous adipose arteries in B6D2F1 mice

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2015
The subcutaneous adipose tissue (sqAT) phenotype differs from that of the often studied visceral adipose tissue. Compared to visceral adipose, sqAT receives relatively less blood flow associated with lower rates of lipid mobilization and the promotion of long term lipid storage.

Mouse genome engineering uncovers 18 genes dispensable for male reproduction

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 833-846, March 2026.
Abstract Background Male infertility is an intricate multifactorial disease involving the interplay between genetic and environmental factors. Genetic anomalies account for more than 15% of all male infertility cases; however, diagnosing them exhibits enormous challenges due to variable symptomatic presentations and limited knowledge of gene functions.

Fullerol treatment decreased the accumulation of leukocytes in the liver at 20 days after transplant.

open access: yes, 2015
GVHD was induced by the transfer of splenocytes from semi allogeneic C57BL/6J donors to B6D2F1 mice. Fullerol (10 mg/Kg in 100 ml of PBS, i.p.) was given to the B6D2F1 mice 30 min before transplantation and every 48 hours thereafter during the entire ...

Effects of deficiency in p53 or bcl-2 on the sensitivity of clonogenic cells in the small intestine to low dose-rate irradiation

open access: yes, 2000
Purpose: To study the role of p53 and bcl-2 in the response of the small intestine to irradiation delivered at low dose-rate. Materials and methods: Mice homozygous for p53 or bcl-2 deletion (-/-), their respective heterozygotes (+/-), and their wild ...

5‐Hydroxymethylcytosine Dynamics Reveals Coordinated Reprogramming of Parental Genomes and X Chromosome Dosage Balance in Mouse SCNT Embryos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 6, 30 January 2026.
Genome‐wide, high‐resolution profiling of hydroxymethylation in mouse SCNT embryos reveals a transient, allele‐symmetric 5hmC reprogramming pattern distinct from natural embryos, with X‐chromosomes and imprinting control regions resistant to proper remodeling.

Caloric restriction reduces cell loss and maintains estrogen receptor-alpha immunoreactivity in the pre-optic hypothalamus of female B6D2F1 mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Life-long caloric restriction (CR) remains the most robust and reliable means of extending life span in mammals. Among the several theories to explain CR actions, one variant of the neuroendocrine theories of aging postulates that changing hypothalamic ...

Measurement of Fecal Testosterone Metabolites in Mice: Replacement of Invasive Techniques

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
Testosterone is the main reproductive hormone in male vertebrates and conventional methods to measure testosterone rely on invasive blood sampling procedures.
