Characterization of a bacteriocin-like substance produced by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens isolated from the Brazilian Atlantic forest [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A Bacillus strain producing a bacteriocin-like substance was characterized by biochemical profiling and 16S rDNA sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the strain has high sequence similarity with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.

Antimicrobial and bactericidal impacts of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens CECT 5940 on fecal shedding of pathogenic bacteria in dairy calves and adult dogs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The administration of B. amyloliquefaciens CECT 5940 to the dog diet has no significant effect on the hardness of the stool. Meanwhile, the bacillus count increases while the coliforms count decreases upon B.

Bacillus velezensis is not a later heterotypic synonym of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens; Bacillus methylotrophicus, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens subsp. plantarum and ‘Bacillus oryzicola’ are later heterotypic synonyms of Bacillus velezensis based on phylogenomics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2016
Bacillus velezensis was previously reported to be a later heterotypic synonym of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, based primarily on DNA-DNA relatedness values. We have sequenced a draft genome of B. velezensis NRRL B-41580T. Comparative genomics and DNA-DNA relatedness calculations show that it is not a synonym of B. amyloliquefaciens.

Regulation der Phytaseexpression in Bacillus amyloliquefaciens

open access: yes, 2006
Several Bacillus strains secrete phytase, an enzyme catalysing dephosphorylation of myo-inositol hexakisphosphate (phytate). The monocistronic phyC (phytase) gene from environmental Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FZB45 was identified as a member of the phosphate-starvation inducible PhoPR regulon.
