Genome sequence data of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens L-17

open access: yesData in Brief, 2021
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens L-17 strain was isolated from a sample of chicken feathers. Here, we report complete genome sequence data of B. amyloliquefaciens L-17. The size of the genome is 3,933,788 bp which harbours 4001 coding Sequences. The BioProject has been deposited at NCBI GenBank.

Identification of diacetonamine from soybean curd residue as a sporulation-inducing factor toward Bacillus spp. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Under bioassay-guided investigation, a sporulation-inducing factor (SIF) toward Bacillus spp. was searched for in methanol (MeOH) extracts of soybean curd residues, and diacetonamine (1) was identified as the active compound.

Translation and processing of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens extracellular RNase [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1989
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens extracellular RNase has been previously cloned and expressed in Bacillus subtilis. Site-specific mutagenesis experiments have identified codon -39 as the start site of translation. We have determined the primary signal peptide cleavage site of preprobarnase and propose a pathway for the conversion of probarnase to mature ...

The Prevalence and Control of Bacillus and Related Spore-Forming Bacteria in the Dairy Industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
peer-reviewedMilk produced in udder cells is sterile but due to its high nutrient content, it can be a good growth substrate for contaminating bacteria. The quality of milk is monitored via somatic cell counts and total bacterial counts, with prescribed ...

Optimization of carboxymethylcellulase production from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SS35 [PDF]

open access: yes3 Biotech, 2013
In this paper, we have attempted optimization of production of enzyme carboxymethylcellulase or endoglucanase from the bacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SS35. Optimization has been carried out in two stages using statistical experimental design, viz. medium optimization and optimization of fermentation parameters.

Plant growth-promoting Bacillus suppress Brevicoryne brassicae field infestation and trigger density-dependent and density-independent natural enemy responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Soil-dwelling Plant Growth Promoting (PGP) Bacillus live in intimate associations with plants; some species offer direct benefits via plant growth promotion while others confer protection against various pathogens.
