Potential of Bacillus subtilis inoculated on Biorichar Amended Soil for Suppression of Fusarium Wilt, Biochemical Changes and Leaf Gas Exchange under Water Stress Condition of Banana (Musa acuminata) cv. Berangan

open access: yesFundamental and Applied Agriculture, 2018
Biological control of pathogens continues to be developed with antagonistic rhizobacteria is a promising strategy for banana plant protection. This study aimed to assess the ability of Bacillus subtilis on suppression of Fusarium wilt, biochemical ...

Receptors for chemotaxis in Bacillus subtilis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1975
At least three receptors for chemotaxis toward L-amino acids in Bacillus subtilis could be found with the aid of taxis competition experiments. They are called the asparagine receptor, which detects asparagine and glutamine, the isoleucine receptor, which detects isoleucine, leucine, valine, phenylalanine, serine, threonine, cysteine, and methionine ...

Asking the 5 W's for designing next‐generation bioprocessing

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Biotechnology is expanding beyond traditional, centralized fermentation and toward next‐generation bioprocessing paradigms that emphasize flexible deployment outside the laboratory with application‐specific performance. However, many bioprocesses fail to translate beyond proof‐of‐concept into industrially viable systems because early design ...

Impact of sorbic acid on germinant receptor-dependent and -independent germination pathways in Bacillus cereus

open access: yes, 2011
Amino acid- and inosine-induced germination of Bacillus cereus ATCC 14579 spores was reversibly inhibited in the presence of 3 mM undissociated sorbic acid. Exposure to high hydrostatic pressure, Ca-dipicolinic acid (DPA), and bryostatin, an activator of

Effect of Endophytic Microorganisms on Growth Rate of Crops

open access: yesТехника и технология пищевых производств
Increasing the yield of wheat, barley, and oats is a pressing issue. It largely depends on soil fertility. Mineral fertilizers, however, may be ineffective and unsustainable. As a result, microorganisms seem to be a promising alternative.

Evaluation of in situ valine production by Bacillus subtilis in young pigs

open access: yesAnimal, 2016
Mutants of Bacillus subtilis can be developed to overproduce Val in vitro. It was hypothesized that addition of Bacillus subtilis mutants to pig diets can be a strategy to supply the animal with Val.

Novel sigmaB regulation modules of Gram-positive bacteria involve the use of complex hybrid histidine kinases.

open access: yes, 2011
Contains fulltext : 97170.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Closed access)A common bacterial strategy to cope with stressful conditions is the activation of alternative sigma factors that control specific regulons enabling targeted responses.

Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Co-culturing Bacillus subtilis and wastewater microbial community in a bio-electrochemical system enhances denitrification and butyrate formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Bio-augmentation could be a promising strategy to improve processes for treatment and resource recovery from wastewater. In this study, the Gram-positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis was co-cultured with the microbial communities present in wastewater ...
