Increased gene expression of scatter factor-hepatocyte growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor in granulation tissue in the rat

open access: yes, 1993
Scatter factor-hepatocyte growth factor is a protein secreted by fibroblasts which disperses colonies of epithelial cells and keratinocytes in culture. The factor is also a patent mitogen for hepatocytes, synthesized in the liver. Basic fibroblast growth

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Regulation of connexin 43 by basic fibroblast growth factor in the bladder: transcriptional and behavioral implications. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
[Purpose]: Basic fibroblast growth factor is a candidate causative factor of detrusor overactivity in bladder outlet obstruction cases through up-regulation of the gap junction protein connexin 43.

Multimodal Soft Surgical Robots Enabled by Eco‐Degradable, Sterilizable Polymers and Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A compostable PGS soft surgical robot with interchangeable modules integrates transient Mo tactile and Si thermal sensors for dual feedback. The device preserves its function after clinical‐grade sterilization, demonstrates stable actuation and cardiac tissue grasping with real‐time in vivo pulsatile monitoring, and biodegrades post‐use with soil‐safe,

Regulation of Transforming Growth Factor β1, Platelet-Derived Growth Factor, and Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor by Silicone Gel Sheeting in Early-Stage Scarring

open access: yesArchives of Plastic Surgery, 2015
Background Hypertrophic scars and keloids are associated with abnormal levels of growth factors. Silicone gel sheets are effective in treating and preventing hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Heparin-conjugated collagen as a potent growth factor-localizing and stabilizing scaffold for regenerative medicine

open access: yesRegenerative Therapy, 2020
Introduction: Growth factors are crucial bioactive molecules in vitro and in vivo. Among them, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) has been used widely for various applications such as cell culture and regenerative medicine. However, bFGF has extremely

Purification and Refolding of Overexpressed Human Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor inEscherichia coli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This work describes the integration of expanded bed adsorption (EBA) and adsorptive protein refolding operations used to recover purified and biologically active human basic fibroblast growth factor from inclusion bodies expressed inE. coli.

Microfabricated Anisotropic Myobundles for the Scalable Production of Cardiac Tissue Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the anisotropy of cardiac tissue remains an outstanding challenge in the field of cardiac tissue engineering. Here, we introduce an approach to generate anisotropic cardiac myobundles using cell‐adhesive, synthetic, electrospun fibers and stem cell‐derived cardiac fibroblasts.

Multiple forms of an angiogenesis factor: basic fibroblast growth factor

open access: yesBiochimie, 1988
An angiogenesis factor has been isolated from human placenta and human hepatoma cells on the basis of its ability to stimulate protease production in cultured capillary endothelial cells. The purified angiogenesis factor also stimulated DNA synthesis and motility in capillary endothelial cells and induced angiogenesis in vivo.
