Background MicroRNAs (miRNAs) is increasingly recognized as an important element in regulating virus-host interactions. Our previous results showed that cellular miR-30a-5p was significantly downregulated after duck enteritis virus (DEV) infection cell ...

Prognostic value of Beclin 1, EGFR and ALK in non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most malignant tumors. The study was carried out to investigate the prognostic value of Beclin 1, EGFR and ALK for this cancer.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Regulation of Intracellular Accumulation of Mutant Huntingtin by Beclin 1 [PDF]
Intracellular accumulation of mutant Huntingtin with expanded polyglutamine provides a context-dependent cytotoxicity critical for the pathogenesis of Huntington disease (Everett, C. M., and Wood, N. W. (2004) Brain 127, 2385-2405). Here we demonstrate that the accumulation of mutant Huntingtin is highly sensitive to the expression of beclin 1, a gene ...

Autophagy plays a protective role against Trypanosoma cruzi infection in mice
Autophagy is a catabolic pathway required for cellular and organism homeostasis. Autophagy participates in the innate and adaptive immune responses at different levels.

FGF13 is upregulated in DRG neurons of PIPNP model mice. DRG neuron‐specific knockout of FGF13 ameliorates PIPNP symptoms. Mechanistically, FGF13 potentiates microtubule detyrosination by promoting VASH1 binding to microtubules. FGF13 knockout suppresses VASH1‐mediated microtubule detyrosination and promotes α‐tubulin tyrosination.

Beclin 1 bridges autophagy, apoptosis and differentiation [PDF]
Beclin 1 is a critical component in the class III PI3 kinase complex (PI3KC3) that induces the formation of autophagosomes in mammalian systems. Autophagic triggers upregulate Beclin 1, which in turn binds to PI3KC3 or Bcl-X(L) to form complexes of Beclin 1-PI3KC3 or Beclin 1-Bcl-X(L) that are physically and functionally independent from each other ...

Polyglutamine tracts regulate beclin 1-dependent autophagy [PDF]
Nine neurodegenerative diseases are caused by expanded polyglutamine (polyQ) tracts in different proteins, such as huntingtin in Huntington's disease and ataxin 3 in spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3). Age at onset of disease decreases with increasing polyglutamine length in these proteins and the normal length also varies.

This study confirms that GGT1 is a key driver of neuronal ferroptosis following spinal cord injury. We developed NSCm@EA, a biomimetic delivery system coated with neural stem cell membranes, for precise delivery of enocyanin to injured neurons. By combining targeted delivery with ubiquitination degradation mechanisms, this system promotes MGRN1 ...
