Potential Role of Beetroot Peel Extract as a Natural Antiaging Agent

open access: yesNatural Resources for Human Health
Skin aging is characterized by reduced flexibility, moisture, and resilience, ultimately leading to wrinkles and fine lines. Natural compounds from beetroot (<i>Beta vulgaris</i> L.) peel extract (BPE) may help slow down skin aging. This study investigates the potential of BPE as a natural antiaging agent.

2‐Amino‐3H‐phenoxazin‐3‐one is a lead inhibitor of Cuscuta campestris early development: structure–activity relationships of o‐aminophenol‐derived allelochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Phenoxazinones caused differential types of phytotoxic effects in C. campestris early development. APO is a coherent lead inhibiting C. campestris germination and early seedling growth. Abstract BACKGROUND 2‐Amino‐3H‐phenoxazin‐3‐one (synonym: questiomycin A; abbreviated as APO or Phx‐3) is a naturally occurring phenoxazinone‐type allelochemical with ...

Target‐site mutations and phenotypic failure in Myzus persicae against pyrethroids and carbamates in central Europe

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Molecular screening of 140 field‐collected Myzus persicae aphids revealed target‐site mutations L1014F, M918L, M918T, and L932F in the sodium channel and S431F in Ace2. The M918L mutation was the primary driver of high pyrethroid (cypermethrin) resistance, while S431F served as a definitive marker for carbamate (pirimicarb) resistance.

Epidemiological drivers of turnip yellows virus and its vector Myzus persicae in Australian canola (Brassica napus) systems: a 3‐year study of commercial crops and noncrop vegetation

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A 3‐year study across southern Australia aimed to characterize drivers of infection in the Myzus persicae–turnip yellows virus–Brassica napus pathosystem. Identification of key reservoir hosts and the strong association between earlier sowing and increased disease incidence highlight opportunities for targeted weed management, strategic sowing ...

Single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas assays for point‐of‐need detection of Stewart's wilt pathogen (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) of corn and Maize dwarf mosaic virus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1988-1999, April 2025.
Schematic diagram of the single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas12a/13a diagnostic assays for the detection of Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii and Maize dwarf mosaic virus. The validated assays provide a useful and sensitive molecular tool for detecting two quarantine pathogens of maize within a minimal resource framework suitable for fast‐tracking the ...

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.
