Abstract Quantitative risk assessments of chemicals are routinely performed using in vivo data from rodents; however, there is growing recognition that non‐animal approaches can be human‐relevant alternatives. There is an urgent need to build confidence in non‐animal alternatives given the international support to reduce the use of animals in toxicity ...

Antimicrobial susceptibility analysis of clinical Eggerthella lenta isolates. This study reviewed 36 E. lenta isolates from the bloodstream and abdominal fluids (2018–2024). Identification methods included VITEK 2 ANC, MALDI‐TOF, and 16S rRNA sequencing. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing using agar dilution followed CLSI and EUCAST guidelines.

Selective expansion of gut antibiotic resistome and underlying pathways involved in type 1 diabetes
Selective expansion of gut antibiotic resistance genes (including glycopeptides, tetracyclines, macrolide‐lincosamide‐streptogramins, and beta‐lactams) was observed in type 1 diabetic rats. Interestingly, a similar expansion of gut antibiotic resistome occurred in diabetic patients.

Investigation on Klebsiella pneumoniae in the field of extracellular vesicles
The role of extracellular vesicles in the pathogenicity and antibiotic resistance, as well as treatment and prevention of Klebsiella pneumoniae. Abstract Klebsiella pneumoniae (KP), recognized for its pronounced antibiotic resistance, is a prevalent agent of nosocomial infections such as hospital‐acquired pneumonia.

First report of NDM-1-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Egypt
This work reports the occurrence of New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase 1 (NDM-1) in metallo-beta-lactamase-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Egypt for the first time, and the presence of more than one blaMBL gene in carbapenem-resistant P. aeruginosa.

This review highlights computational approaches for discovering antimicrobials against carbapenem‐resistant Enterobacterales. It outlines methods like pharmacophore modeling, molecular docking, and absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion–toxicity (ADMET) analysis, integrated with in vitro assays, to identify and validate potential drugs ...
