Peptidase activity of beta-lactamases.
Although beta-lactamases have generally been considered as being devoid of peptidase activity, a low but significant hydrolysis of various N-acylated dipeptides was observed with representatives of each class of beta-lactamases. The kcat/Km values were below 0.1 M(-1).

ABSTRACT Background Serious bacterial infections (SBIs) are major contributors to neonatal morbidity and mortality in low‐income countries. We describe the aetiology and risk factors for neonatal bacteraemia and in‐hospital mortality in eastern Ethiopia, focusing on Pantoea dispersa, a rarely studied pathogen, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Abstract Background While modern technology is increasingly available to identify efficiently the molecular alterations responsible for variant phenotype, a subset of samples still escapes those analyses. In addition to the promoter region, two intronic regions containing GATA1 binding sites within the RHD gene locus were recently shown to modulate the

Disseminated Histoplasmosis: An Unusual Finding at ROSE
ABSTRACT We describe an unusual case in which disseminated histoplasmosis was suspected at the time of of rapid on‐site assessment (ROSE) performed during endobronchial ultrasound‐guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS‐TBNA). The patient was a renal transplant recipient with fever, mild anemia, bilateral lung infiltrates and mediastinal ...
