Multiple stage pretreatment affecting the properties of nanocellulose from oil palm frond [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Cellulose extraction is an important step prior to nanocellulose production from lignocellulosic materials. The important view of present study rely on pretreatment method for cellulose extraction by comparing their effect on properties of nanocellulose.

Niche differentiation is spatially and temporally regulated in the rhizosphere. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The rhizosphere is a hotspot for microbial carbon transformations, and is the entry point for root polysaccharides and polymeric carbohydrates that are important precursors to soil organic matter (SOM).

Plant canopies sustain soil C‐N‐P enzyme activities under climatic disequilibrium

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 4, April 2026.
Our findings reveal that plant–soil interactions are sensitive to mismatches between plant communities and climate. By enhancing enzymatic functioning under conditions of climatic disequilibrium, canopy plants contribute to maintaining nutrient cycling processes and potentially ecosystem resilience.

Isolation and characterization of .BETA.-xylosidase from a recombinant Escherichia coli strain.

open access: yesThe Journal of General and Applied Microbiology, 1987
A β-xylosidase gene from Bacillus subtilis was cloned via the expression vector pKK223-3 into E. coli. The resulting recombinant strain E. coli [pKK223-300] produced a xylosidase which was cell-wall bound. The enzyme was dissociated from the cell wall with CHAPS detergent, and purified by affinity chromatography.

Unveiling the Hidden Drivers: How Vegetation Cover, Season and Forest Management Shape the Soil Microbial Community in Two Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 2, April 2026.
Forest management affects microbial community composition depending on forest type. Vegetation type has the strongest effect on microbial composition, while management alters community structure without affecting function, highlighting the importance of vegetation in forest soil ecosystem dynamics.
