PI-controlled bioreactor as a generalized Lienard system [PDF]
It is shown that periodic orbits can occur in Cholette's bioreactor model working under the influence of a PI-controller. We find a diffeomorphic coordinate transformation that turns this controlled enzymatic reaction system into a generalized Lienard form.

Operation of a Benchtop Bioreactor [PDF]
Fermentation systems are used to provide an optimal growth environment for many different types of cell cultures. The ability afforded by fermentors to carefully control temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen concentrations in particular makes them essential to efficient large scale growth and expression of fermentation products. This video will briefly

Effect of cytostatic drugs on the sludge and on the mixed liquor characteristics of a cross-flow membrane bioreactor: Consequence on the process [PDF]
The influence of cyclophosphamide and its principal metabolites (CPs) on the physicochemical properties of the mixed liquor of a cross-flow membrane bioreactor and the consequences for membrane fouling were investigated.

FLOCCULATION BIOREACTORS [PDF]
One of the main goals of bioprocess engineering is to increase the productivity of biotechnological processes and a vigorous progress has been observed in that field over the last decades. Fermentation based processes are not an exception and, in order to achieve those objectives, techniques such as the use of high cell density systems have been ...

Plant Bioreactors for Pharmaceuticals [PDF]
Plant bioreactors are attractive expression systems for economic production of pharmaceuticals. Various plant expression systems or platforms have been tested with certain degrees of success over the past years. However, further development and improvement are needed for more effective plant bioreactors.

Numerical study of substrate assimilation by a microorganism exposed to fluctuating concentration [PDF]
In most modelling works on bioreactors, the substrate assimilation is computed from the volume average concentration. The possible occurrence of a competition between the transport of substrate towards the cell and the assimilation at the cell level is ...

At present, most precious compounds are still obtained by plant cultivation such as ginsenosides, glycyrrhizic acid, and paclitaxel, which cannot be easily obtained by artificial synthesis.

NEW GENERATION OF BIOREACTORS: THE BAREHOLE BIOREACTOR
Biogas reactors are a huge technical and technological installation that operates mainly as a result of the solar heat on earth and serves to produce biogas, but in areas where air temperatures are meant to vary (although in Uzbekistan, where there are four seasons), sunlight cannot heat the bioreactor enough during 12 months.

Time‐resolved multiparameter analytics on a cell‐free production platform for acyl‐CoA precursors
Abstract Cell‐free biosynthesis is emerging as a very attractive alternative for the production of market‐relevant molecules. The free combination of enzymes, regardless of where they are isolated from, raises the possibility to build more efficient synthetic routes but at the same time leads to higher complexity regarding the analysis of the different

The marine green macroalga Ulva (Chlorophyta) lives in a mutualistic symbiosis with bacteria that influence growth, development, and morphogenesis. We surveyed changes in Ulva’s chemosphere, which was defined as a space where organisms interact with each
