PARP inhibitors chemopotentiate and synergize with cisplatin to inhibit bladder cancer cell survival and tumor growth

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2022
Background Management of bladder cancer (BLCA) has not changed significantly in the past few decades, with platinum agent chemotherapy being used in most cases.

TONSL Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression by Inhibiting Apoptosis Through Homologous Recombination Repair

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
In hepatocellular carcinoma, the 8q24.3 locus is frequently amplified and is associated with tumor‐specific overexpression of TONSL. TONSL promotes homologous recombination repair through RAD51, limits γH2AX accumulation and apoptosis, supports tumor growth, and its loss increases sensitivity to poly (ADP‐ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibition.

O‐GlcNAcylation of KAT2A Enhances Bladder Cancer Proliferation by Inhibiting the KAT2A‐TRIM22 Interaction

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Lysine acetyltransferase 2A (KAT2A) is a transcriptional coactivator and a member of the Histone Acetyltransferase (HAT) family. While altered KAT2A activity has been implicated in various cancers, its role in bladder cancer (BLCA) remains poorly understood.

Development of a prognostic model to predict BLCA based on anoikis-related gene signature: preliminary findings

open access: yesBMC Urology, 2023
Abstract Background The prevalence of bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA) is significant on a global scale. Anoikis is a type of procedural cell death that has an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. The advent of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) approaches has revolutionized the genomics field by ...

Identification of integrin drug targets for 17 solid tumor types. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Integrins are contributors to remodeling of the extracellular matrix and cell migration. Integrins participate in the assembly of the actin cytoskeleton, regulate growth factor signaling pathways, cell proliferation, and control cell motility.

Menin facilitates the cell proliferation of bladder cancer via modulating the TFAP2C/β-catenin axis

open access: yesGenes and Diseases
Bladder cancer (BLCA) is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system, with significant morbidity and mortality rates worldwide. The MEN1 gene, encoding the menin protein, plays a regulatory role in several cancers. However, the role played by menin in

PRR11 is a prognostic biomarker and correlates with immune infiltrates in bladder urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Abnormal proline-rich protein 11 (PRR11) expression is associated with various tumors. However, there are few reports concerning PRR11 with prognostic risk, immune infiltration, or immunotherapy of bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA). This study is based

Identification of tryptophan metabolism- and immune-related genes signature and prediction of immune infiltration landscape in bladder urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
IntroductionTryptophan metabolism is indirectly involved in immune tolerance and promotes response to anticancer drugs. However, the mechanisms underlying tryptophan metabolism and immune landscape in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA) are not fully ...

SYNPO2 promotes the development of BLCA by upregulating the infiltration of resting mast cells and increasing the resistance to immunotherapy

open access: yesOncology Reports, 2023
Synaptopodin 2 (SYNPO2) plays a pivotal role in regulating tumor growth, development and progression in bladder urothelial Carcinoma (BLCA). However, the precise biological functions and mechanisms of SYNPO2 in BLCA remain unclear. Based on TCGA database‑derived BLCA RNA sequencing data, survival analysis and prognosis analysis indicate that elevated ...
