Biologically active human bone morphogenetic protein-4 (hBMP-4) was successfully produced in a prokaryotic host. For this aim, hBMP-4 cDNA was cloned in Escherichia coli (E. coli) and the protein was produced in a non-active aggregated form.

Instrumented Lumbar Corpectomy and Spinal Reconstruction Comparing rhBMP-2/Compression-Resistant Matrix, rhBMP-2/Absorbable Collagen Sponge/Ceramic Granules Mixture, and Autograft in Two Different Devices: A Study in Sheep [PDF]
Study Design. Fusion success with rhBMP-2 and autograft in titanium or PEEK corpectomy devices was evaluated in a sheep lumbar corpectomy model. The 6 treatment groups included titanium mesh or PEEK corpectomy devices filled with rhBMP-2 on a compression-

Role of noncoding RNA in vascular remodelling [PDF]
Purpose of review: Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), such as microRNAs (miRNAs) and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are becoming fundamentally important in the pathophysiology relating to injury-induced vascular remodelling.

This study revealed how the osteoblastic microenvironment determines the fate of cancer cells disseminated in bone, with a focus on whether they colonize, reside in quiescence, or reactivate from dormancy. Targeting integrin signaling may offer promising strategies for preventing quiescent cancer cells reactivation and bone colonization.

Bone Morphogenetic Protein-4 Influences Neural Differentiation of Induced Mouse Mesenchymal Stem Cells [PDF]
Objective: Members of the transforming growth factor-β superfamily, including bone morphogeneticprotein 4 (BMP4), have been implicated as regulators of neural differentiation. The aim of this study was to establish whether BMP4 could influence neuronal ...

Role of Bone morphogenetic protein 4 in zebrafish semicircular canal development [PDF]
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are known to play roles in inner ear development of higher vertebrates. In zebrafish, there are several reports showing that members of the BMP family are expressed in the otic vesicle. We have isolated a novel zebrafish mutant gallery, which affects the development of the semicircular canal.

ABSTRACT Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the predominant stromal components within the tumor microenvironment (TME), playing multifaceted roles in cancer progression through dynamic interactions with neoplastic and immune cells. Emerging evidence has revealed remarkable heterogeneity and plasticity of CAFs, which originate from diverse ...

Promoting Treg Polarization‐Mediated Anti‐Scar and Appendage Regeneration in Wound Healing
This study develops a PLGA@LA‐BMP4‐PG bilayer scaffold to address scar formation and appendage loss in skin repair. The piezoelectric PLA layer enhances cell migration via electric fields, while GelMA delivers LA promoting Tregs polarization and BMP4 inhibiting FBs differentiation.
