Pro-Inflammatory Response of Bovine Lung Explant Induced by Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides

open access: yesPathogens
Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is a significant respiratory disease in cattle caused by Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides (Mmm). A better understanding of the pathogenesis of CBPP and the immune response of the host to infection will assist ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Bovine rotavirus V1005 a P5, not a P12, type like all viruses in a German survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Bovine rotavirus (BRV) V1005, like 34 further cell culture-adapted strains in a 6-year survey in Upper Bavaria, Germany, is not a P12 but a P5 P-type rotavirus.

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

A cohort study of bovine tuberculosis in cattle in South West England [PDF]

open access: yes
Farm, cattle group and individual bovine risk factors for bovine tuberculosis (bTB) in cattle herds in the South West of England were explored. A cohort study using 148 well characterised cattle herds was conducted in SW England 2001-2004. The study was

Effect of Twinning on Calving Ease and Viability of Calves

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies
The aim of the current research was to evaluate the effects of twinning on calving ease and calves’ viability in Romanian Spotted dual-purpose breed. Data from 280 births (260 single and 20 twin births) were enrolled in order to assess the twinning and ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Study on Milk Production Dynamics and Major Chemical Milk Components in Brown Sire Dams of Brown Swiss-Type from the Research and Development Station for Bovine Raising - Arad

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
The present work was carried out to determine the influence of lactation rank on the milk yield, fat and protein evolution. Observations were carried out on 117 lactations, as follows: 15 first lactations, 22 second lactations, 26 third lactations, 28 ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
