From Bradykinin B2 Receptor Antagonists to Orally Active and Selective Bradykinin B1 Receptor Antagonists

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2012
The bradykinin (BK) B1 receptor is an attractive target for the treatment of chronic pain and inflammation. Starting from a dual B1 and B2 antagonist, novel antagonists were designed that display low-nanomolar affinity for human B1 receptor and selectivity over B2.

Therapeutic prospects of bradykinin receptor antagonists

General Pharmacology: The Vascular System, 1993
1. Bradykinin and related kinins may act on four types of receptors designated as B1, B2, B3 and B4. It seems that the B2 receptors are most commonly found in various vascular and non-vascular smooth muscles, whereas B1 receptors are formed in vitro during trauma, and injury, and are found in bone tissues. 2.

Bradykinin receptor antagonists.

IDrugs : the investigational drugs journal, 2005
A review of the recent patent literature for bradykinin B2 receptor antagonists is presented for the period of 1994 to 1998. Although several very potent and selective peptide antagonists of bradykinin receptors are already known, the increasing number of recently disclosed patent applications claiming non-peptide B2 antagonists represents substantial ...
