Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Challenges in Diagnosis and Management of Crohn's Disease in Bangladesh With Long Term Follow‐Up
Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) with significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We reported a case of a 20‐year‐old Bangladeshi male with an 8‐month history of severe upper abdominal pain, bowel ...

Early life stress disrupts intestinal homeostasis via NGF-TrkA signaling
Early life stress has been associated with the occurrence of gastrointestinal diseases later in life, but underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, Wong et al.

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Brain-Gut-Microbiota Axis in Alzheimer’s Disease
Disturbances along the brain-gut-microbiota axis may significantly contribute to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most frequent cause of dementia characterized by a progressive decline in cognitive function associated with the formation of amyloid beta (Aβ) plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. Alterations

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Studying the Role of PTEN in The Gut and Investigating the Gut-Brain Inflammatory Interaction
Phosphatase and tensin homolog (Pten) deficiency causes tumorigenesis because Pten opposes PI3k-Akt signaling. However, correlation between Pten deficiency and colon cancer remains unclear due to contradicting studies.

The microbiome-gut-brain axis in acute and chronic brain diseases [PDF]
The gut microbiome — the largest reservoir of microorganisms of the human body — is emerging as an important player in neurodevelopment and ageing as well as in brain diseases including stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
