Circulating humoral factors and endothelial progenitor cells in patients with differing coronary collateral support [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Background - The mechanisms underlying the variation in collateral formation between patients, even with similar patterns of coronary artery disease, remain unclear.

FOXQ1 Regulates Brain Endothelial Mitochondrial Function by Orchestrating Calcium Signaling and Cristae Morphology

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The blood‐brain barrier (BBB) maintains brain homeostasis through specialized functions including tight junction formation and selective transport of brain endothelial cells (ECs).

Esterified Cholesterol Conjugates Enable LNP‐Mediated mRNA Delivery to the Blood–Brain Barrier Following Intravenous Administration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A cholesterol‐conjugated lipid library enabled the identification of a ligand‐free LNP platform for efficient mRNA delivery to brain endothelial cells via systemic administration. This platform achieves selective BBB targeting without disrupting barrier integrity, and enables modulation of neuroinflammation and vascular function without requiring trans‐

Papain-based Single Cell Isolation of Primary Murine Brain Endothelial Cells Using Flow Cytometry

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2018
Brain endothelial cells (BECs) form the integral component of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) which separates the systemic milieu from the brain parenchyma and protects the brain from pathogens and circulating factors. In order to study BEC biology, it was

Bottom‐Up Engineering of a Human Neuromuscular System for Modeling Activity‐Induced Remodeling, Metabolic Stress, and Endothelial‐Modulated Excitability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Using a bottom‐up approach, we engineered a human neuromuscular microchip to investigate distinct adaptive responses to neural stimulation and metabolic stress. Further integration of endothelial cells revealed their critical role in modulating neuromuscular excitability, establishing a comprehensive neurovascular‐muscular model.

Tetramethylpyrazine promotes the proliferation and migration of brain endothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2014
The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP), one of the alkaloids isolated from the Chinese herb Chuanxiong, on the proliferation and migration of brain endothelial cells. A different dosage of TMP was employed to stimulate the mouse microvascular cell line bEnd.3 in vitro.

Charge‐Reversed Lipid Nanoparticles Enable Encapsulation of Pt2L4 Nanocages for In vivo Anti‐Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Charge‐reversed lipid nanoparticles (revLNPs) enable efficient encapsulation and delivery of cationic Pt2L4 nanocages. Encapsulation preserves potent anticancer activity while improving circulation, reducing vascular leakage, and promoting favorable biodistribution in vivo.

Isolation of endothelial cells, pericytes and astrocytes from mouse brain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Primary cell isolation from the central nervous system (CNS) has allowed fundamental understanding of blood-brain barrier (BBB) properties. However, poorly described isolation techniques or suboptimal cellular purity has been a weak point of some ...

Intelligent Micro/Nanorobots for Targeted Interventional Therapy: From Bench to Clinic

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Zirui Zhang et al. reviewed the application and challenges of mobile nanomachines in interventional therapy. By converting exogenous energy, including chemical, magnetic, optical, and ultrasonic sources, into mechanical forces, micro/nanorobots (MNRs) enable precise actuation at unprecedented scales. Evolving far beyond traditional drug delivery, these

Cell‐Based Biohybrid Micro/Nanorobots for Biotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review systematically evaluates cell‐based biohybrid micro/nanorobots (CB‐BMRs), highlighting their cell selection criteria, fabrication strategies, and diverse actuation modes. Furthermore, it surveys the promising therapeutic applications of CB‐BMRs in targeted cancer, thrombosis, and inflammation treatments, while comprehensively discussing ...
