His‐MMDM: Multi‐Domain and Multi‐Omics Translation of Histopathological Images with Diffusion Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
His‐MMDM is a diffusion model‐based framework for scalable multi‐domain and multi‐omics translation of histopathological images, enabling tasks from virtual staining, cross‐tumor knowledge transfer, and omics‐guided image editing. ABSTRACT Generative AI (GenAI) has advanced computational pathology through various image translation models.

Chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy increases nontraumatic fracture risk in breast cancer survivors

open access: yesJBMR Plus, 2021
Chemotherapy is a common treatment for breast cancer (BrCa) and can cause chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). CIPN contributes to falls, and is thus a potential risk factor for nontraumatic fractures (NTFx); yet, the effect of CIPN on NTFx

BRCA immunohistochemistry for screening of BRCA mutation in epithelial ovarian cancer patients

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology Reports, 2020
To evaluate BRCA1/2 immunohistochemistry (IHC) as a screening test for germline BRCA1/2 in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), tumor tissue from 105 EOC patients who had germline BRCA mutations, including 9 BRCA1 mutations, 6 BRCA2 mutations and 90 no BRCA mutations, were studied. Paraffin-embedded tissue blocks were stained for BRCA1 and BRCA2.

ZBTB21 Is a Dual Suppressor of Pyroptosis and MHC‐I Antigen Presentation That Promotes Tumor Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.

BRCA promoter methylation in sporadic versus BRCA germline mutation-related breast cancers [PDF]

open access: yesBreast Cancer Research, 2017
In breast cancer, BRCA promoter hypermethylation and BRCA germline mutations are said to occur together rarely, but this property has not yet been translated into a clinical test. Our aim in this study was to investigate the diagnostic value of BRCA1/2 methylation in distinguishing breast carcinomas of BRCA1 and BRCA2 germline mutation carriers from ...

ERAD Component MoHrd3 Facilitates Pathogenicity and Establishes a Direct Regulation on Autophagy in Magnaporthe Oryzae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MoHrd3 plays a crucial role in regulating the pathogenicity of Magnaporthe oryzae. As an ER‐associated degradation component, MoHrd3 involves in ER stress‐triggered autophagy. It facilitates the fusion between the autophagosome and the vacuole via enhancing the interaction between MoAtg8 and MoYpt7.

Multi‐Scale Mapping of Gene Expression from Whole‐slide Images for Identifying Phenotype‐Associated Subpopulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BiSCALE: A pathology‐driven deep learning framework for multi‐scale gene expression prediction from whole‐slide images. It accurately infers bulk and near‐cellular spot‐level expression, links predictions to clinical phenotypes, identifies disease‐associated niches, and enables applications in risk stratification and cell‐identity annotation, providing

Pancancer Fine‐Mapping of Mutational Intolerance Identifies CHEK1 as an Immunosuppressive Driver in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies mutation‐intolerant genes (MIGs), which are mutationally constrained in tumors despite normal‐tissue variability. Using miDriver, the authors pinpoint MIGs essential for tumor‐intrinsic fitness and immune evasion. Focusing on CHEK1, they show it drives tumor fitness and sculpts an immunosuppressive niche via the MIF–CD74 axis ...
