Hydro-mechanical processing of brewer's spent grain as a novel route for separation of protein products with differentiated techno-functional properties [PDF]
© 2019 Elsevier Ltd Hydro-mechanical processing using a colloid mill with a large gap setting leads to the preferential breakup of the residual aleurone and endosperm tissues of brewer's spent grain, forming a protein rich fines material with small ...

Effect of protein during hydrothermal carbonization of brewer’s spent grain
This study has two targets: Studying the extraction of the initial protein content from brewer's spent grain and the impact of protein's extraction on the chemical-physical properties of produced hydrochars. The protein was extracted from brewer's spent grains using the pH-shifting method. The extracted protein was quantified and characterized by their

Toxic Entanglements: Asylum and Extraction in the Republic of Nauru
ABSTRACT Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the outsourcing of asylum processing and resettlement from Global North to South. Many of these containment practices retrace the fault lines of more typically thought‐of colonial extractive regimes. This article draws on long‐term ethnographic research conducted in the Republic of Nauru, the world'

Abstract The food enzyme endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (4‐β‐d‐xylan xylanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.8) is produced with the genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis strain NZYM‐FX by Novozymes A/S. The safety of this food enzyme was evaluated previously and it did not give rise to safety concerns when used in two food manufacturing processes.

Isolation and Characterization of the Physiochemical Properties of Brewer’s Spent Grain
Large quantities of brewer’s spent grains are not fully utilized even as cattle feed. These feedstocks can be used to produce highly functional biomaterials, carbonaceous materials, and additives. In this investigation, four major fractions were isolated
