Emergence of Ceftazidime‐Avibactam‐Induced KPC Variants (KPC‐25/127) in Intracranial Infection and Implications for Clinical Management

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
Novel KPC‐25 and first‐reported KPC‐127 sequentially evolved in one patient under CAZ‐AVI pressure, distinct mutations remodel enzyme activity to drive differential multidrug resistance. ABSTRACT The emergence of novel Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) variants contributing to clinical treatment failure poses a substantial threat to public ...

Detection of OXA‐23 Among Carbapenem‐Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Isolated From Intensive Care Units of a Tertiary Care Hospital in Pakistan

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
Graphical Abstract of the Experimental Workflow for CRAB Isolate Characterization. ABSTRACT Carbapenem‐resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) has been designated a top‐priority critical pathogen by the World Health Organization, and the CDC has also classified it as a serious and immediate public health threat. The Cross‐sectional study was conducted

Water Soluble‐Nitrogenous Secondary Metabolites From Talaromyces annesophieae MD2 Exhibit Anti‐Bacterial, Anti‐Cancer, Anti‐Oxidant, and Cytoprotective Activities

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
The dichloromethane extract (DCM‐E) was prepared from the culture supernatant of the fungus Talaromyces annesophieae MD2 was fractionated using chromatographic techniques. The subfraction 3 was determined to contain four major nitrogenous compounds and exhibit antibacterial, anticancer, antioxidant, and cytoprotective activities.
