A REVIEW ON BUCCAL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
The buccal region of the oral cavity is an attractive target for administration of the drug of choice, particularly in overcoming deficiencies associated with the latter mode of administration. Problems such as high first-pass metabolism and drug degradation in the gastrointestinal environment can be circumvented by administering the drug via the ...

Review on Buccal Drug Delivery Systems
Buccal drug delivery systems represent a promising frontier in pharmaceutical technology, offering a non-invasive route for drug administration that bypasses the gastrointestinal tract and hepatic first-pass metabolism. This method leverages the buccal mucosa’s rich vascularization and permeability to enhance drug bioavailability.

Buccal and topical drug delivery
The aim of this work is to investigate new and classical techniques, methods and formulations for topical and buccal release. All the formulations proposed are based on natural and biocompatible polymer matrices such as gellan gum, scleroglucan and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. The proposed formulations are tested by in vitro release tests.
