The CP123L protein of African swine fever virus is a membrane-associated, palmitoylated protein required for viral replication

open access: yesJournal of Virology
African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contagious and often lethal disease caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV) in pigs. Protein palmitoylation is a prevalent posttranslational lipid modification that can modulate viral replication.

Angiomotin-Like 1 Links Paramyxovirus M Proteins to NEDD4 Family Ubiquitin Ligases

open access: yesViruses, 2019
To define the links between paramyxovirus budding and cellular ESCRT machinery, we previously identified angiomotin-like 1 (AMOTL1) in a screen for host factors that bind to the matrix (M) protein of parainfluenza virus 5 (PIV5).

Betere vergelijkbaarheid en meer transparantie verslaggeving gemeenten? [PDF]

open access: yesMAB, 2018

Multiwavelength Observations of AB Doradus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have observed the bright, magnetically active multiple star AB Doradus in a multiwavelength campaign centring around two large facility allocations in November 2006 and January, 2007. Our observations have covered at least three large flares.

Light Curve and orbital period analysis of the eclipsing binary AT Peg [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
CCD photometric observations of the Algol-type eclipsing binary AT Peg have been obtained. The light curves are analyzed with modern techniques and new geometric and photometric elements are derived.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Vertical Cancer Transmission via Asexual Fragmentation and Associated Cancer Prevalence

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications
While sexual reproduction is a general feature of animals, fissiparity and budding are relatively uncommon modes of asexual reproduction by which a fragment from a parent becomes an independent organism.

Hantavirus Gn and Gc Envelope Glycoproteins: Key Structural Units for Virus Cell Entry and Virus Assembly

open access: yesViruses, 2014
In recent years, ultrastructural studies of viral surface spikes from three different genera within the Bunyaviridae family have revealed a remarkable diversity in their spike organization.

Tilt Texture Domains on a Membrane and Chirality induced Budding

open access: yes, 2001
We study the equilibrium conformations of a lipid domain on a planar fluid membrane where the domain is decorated by a vector field representing the tilt of the stiff fatty acid chains of the lipid molecules, while the surrounding membrane is fluid and ...

Budding and vesiculation induced by conical membrane inclusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Conical inclusions in a lipid bilayer generate an overall spontaneous curvature of the membrane that depends on concentration and geometry of the inclusions. Examples are integral and attached membrane proteins, viruses, and lipid domains.
