Oligoglyceric acid synthesis by autocondensation of glyceroyl thioester [PDF]
The autocondensation of the glyceroyl thioester, S-glyceroyl-ethane-thiol, yielded olioglyceric acid. The rates of autocondensation and hydrolysis of the thioester increased from pH 6.5 to pH 7.5 in 2,6-lutidine and imidazole buffers.

Versatile Markovian models for networks with asymmetric TCP sources [PDF]
In this paper we use Stochastic Petri Nets (SPNs) to study the interaction of multiple TCP sources that share one or two buffers, thereby considerably extending earlier work. We first consider two sources sharing a buffer and investigate the consequences

Stochastic variation in the FOXM1 transcription program mediates replication stress tolerance
Cellular heterogeneity is a major cause of drug resistance in cancer. Segeren et al. used single‐cell transcriptomics to investigate gene expression events that correlate with sensitivity to the DNA‐damaging drugs gemcitabine and prexasertib. They show that dampened expression of transcription factor FOXM1 and its target genes protected cells against ...

Grassland bird nest ecology and survival in upland habitat buffers near wooded edges
Upland habitat buffers (i.e., strips of noncrop, herbaceous vegetation) that are established adjacent to wooded fencerows offer landowners an economical option to provide wildlife benefits within intensive agricultural landscapes.

Modern middleware for the data acquisition of the Cherenkov Telescope Array
The data acquisition system (DAQ) of the future Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) must be ef- ficient, modular and robust to be able to cope with the very large data rate of up to 550 Gbps coming from many telescopes with different characteristics. The use

CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

On proving the equivalence of concurrency primitives [PDF]
Various concurrency primitives have been added to sequential programming languages, in order to turn them concurrent. Prominent examples are concurrent buffers for Haskell, channels in Concurrent ML, joins in JoCaml, and handled futures in Alice ML. Even
