The Urinary Excretion of Trittated Butylated Hydroxyanisole and Butylated Hydroxytoluene in the Rat

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1962
Abstract The total radioactivity of rat urine after the administration of tritiated butylated hydroxyanisole and butylated hydroxytoluene has been measured. The results indicate that approximately 90 per cent of the dose of bha is excreted within four days.

Studies on the stability and antioxidant properties of butylated hydroxyanisoles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) is one of the most widely used synthetic antioxidants added to foodstuffs. BHA consists of a mixture of isomers, 3-tert-butyl-4- hydroxyanisole (3-BHA) and 2-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole (2-BHA). [Continues.

Butylated hydroxyanisole blocks the occurrence of tumor associated macrophages in tobacco smoke carcinogen-induced lung tumorigenesis. [PDF]

open access: yesCancers (Basel), 2013
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) promote tumorigenesis because of their proangiogenic and immune-suppressive functions. Here, we report that butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) blocks occurrence of tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) in tobacco smoke ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Butylated Hydroxyanisole and Butylated Hydroxytoluene in Acetic Acid Solutions and their Voltammetric Determination in Pharmaceutical Preparations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2018
Electrochemical behavior of butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) was investigated by cyclic (CV), linear sweep (LSV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in glacial acetic acid solutions in order to develop a new method ...

Antioxidants used in oils, fats and fatty foods Antioxidantes utilizados em óleos, gorduras e alimentos gordurosos

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2006
Lipid oxidation is certainly one of the most important alterations that affect both oils or fats and foods that contain them. It is responsible for the development of unpleasant taste and smell in foods, making them unsuitable for consuming.
