The protective effect of inflammatory monocytes during systemic C. albicans infection is dependent on collaboration between C-type lectin-like receptors. [PDF]
Invasive candidiasis, mainly caused by Candida albicans, is a serious healthcare problem with high mortality rates, particularly in immunocompromised patients. Innate immune cells express pathogen recognition receptors (PRRs) including C-type lectin-like

Characterization of the chicken C-type lectin-like receptors B-NK and B-lec suggests that the NK complex and the MHC share a common ancestral region. [PDF]
The sequencing of the chicken MHC led to the identification of two open reading frames, designated B-NK and B-lec, that were predicted to encode C-type lectin domains.

In an invasive beetle–fungus complex, the mutualist Leptographium procerum induces host HSP83 and modulates Toll‐dependent antifungal immunity. HSP83 mediates two‐tiered control by associating with selected fungal recognition receptors and restraining Dorsal‐driven antimicrobial peptide transcription.

A hierarchically selective immunotherapeutic nanoplatform, mGls@HEV‐MTP, selectively restores macrophage immunocompetence through GLS1‐mediated restoration of glutaminolysis‐fueled anaplerosis. Concurrently, it renders Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) more readily recognizable to the metabolically reprogrammed macrophages, thereby facilitating ...

C-type lectin receptors orchestrate antifungal immunity
Fungal infections are an emerging threat for human health. A coordinated host immune response is fundamental for successful elimination of an invading fungal microbe.

Complexity and diversity of the NKR-P1:Clr (Klrb1:Clec2) recognition systems
The NKR-P1 receptors were identified as prototypical natural killer (NK) cell surface antigens and later shown to be conserved from rodents to humans on NK cells and subsets of T cells.

Using Synthetic Glycans to Investigate Anti‐Glycan Antibodies and Explore Their Medical Potential
Anti‐glycan antibodies are essential in health and disease. Access to novel glycan structures paves the way for progress in antibody profiling for biomarker discovery, antibody development, and vaccine design. We summarize the strategies to synthesize and utilize synthetic glycans for the development and application of anti‐glycan antibodies in basic ...

C-type lectin-like receptor 2 in platelets amplifies inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis
Platelets play a crucial role not only in thrombosis and hemostasis but also in inflammation, including rheumatoid arthritis. Although synovial cells in the joints express the membrane protein podoplanin, and platelets express the podoplanin receptor C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2), the role of CLEC-2 in arthritis has not been elucidated. This ...

Abstract The organization and function of reptilian excurrent ducts remain poorly characterized, particularly in Neotropical snakes. We provide the first integrative morphological, histochemical, immunohistochemical, and ultrastructural analysis of the proximal post‐testicular ducts of Crotalus durissus across reproductive stages.
