New meroterpenoids and C-methylated flavonoid isolated from Baeckea frutescens
Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines, 2020Phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of Baeckea frutescens resulted in the isolation of three new mono- or sesquiterpene-based meroterpenoids, frutescones S-U (1-3), and one pair of new (±)-5,7-dihydroxy-8-isobutyryl-6-methyldihydroflavonol (4).

Chromone C-glycosides from Baeckea frutescens
Phytochemistry, 1999Abstract Five new chromone C-glycosides have been obtained from the leaves of Baeckea frutescens. They are: 6-β-C-glucopyranosyl-5,7- dihydroxy-2-isopropylchromone, 8-β-C-glucopyranosyl-5,7-dihydroxy-2-isopropylchromone, 6-β-C-glucopyranosyl-5,7-dihydroxy- 2-methylchromone, 6-β-C-(2′-galloylglucopyranosyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-2-isopropylchromone and 8-β-C-(

Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are crucial elements of convoluted gene regulatory network that governs plant development and stress responses. The role of small RNAs (sRNA) especially in C. chinense (Bhut Jolokia) and C. frutescens (Kon Jolokia) of Capsicum genus are still unexplored. Therefore, to identify miRNAs small RNA sequencing was performed from

Structure determination of baeckeins C and D from the roots of Baeckea frutescens
Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry, 2011Baeckeins C (compound 1) and D (compound 2), a pair of new diastereomeric biflavonoids, were isolated from the roots of Baeckea frutescens. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, including HR‐ESI‐MS and one‐ and two‐dimensional NMR spectra (1H and 13C NMR, HSQC, HMBC, and ROESY).

An advanced backcross QTL study was performed in pepper using a cross between the cultivated species Capsicum annuum cv. Maor and the wild C. frutescens BG 2816 accession. A genetic map from this cross was constructed, based on 248 BC(2) plants and 92 restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) markers distributed throughout the genome.

TAXONOMIC AND GENETIC STUDIES ON THE CULTIVATED PEPPERS, CAPSICUM ANNUUM L. AND C. FRUTESCENS L.
American Journal of Botany, 1951DURING A BREEDING program with cultivated peppers, the senior author received seed of an unusual type (P. I. 129,325) from the Division of Plant Exploration and Introduction, United States Department of Agriculture. This lot-listed on receipt as Accession 390-had been collected in an abandoned field north of Santa Rosa, Province of El Oro, Ecuador.
