Collagen‐Based Gut‐on‐Chip for In Vitro Modeling of Intestinal Barrier Function and Host‐Pathogen Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A collagen‐based gut‐on‐chip model replicates the intestinal extracellular matrix, supporting villi‐like structures, tight junctions, and mucin production. This biomimetic platform enables rapid epithelial differentiation and functional barrier formation.

Сасо-2 INTESTINAL PERMEABILITY AND Pgp-AFFINITY OF PHOSPHAZIDE

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2019
In this work the intestinal permeability of phospazide in vitro was investigated using Caco-2 cell model in apical-basolateral (A-B) and basolateral-apical (B-A) directions as well as with the option of adding of P-glycoprotein (Pgp) inhibitor ...

Introducing Borsantrazole: A Trifunctional Boron‐Based Pyrazole That Extends the Lifespan of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein we report a boron‐based pyrazole, (Borsantrazole ‐ a small molecule that selectively targets oxidative stress) that significantly increases survival, reduces weight loss, delays disease onset, and affects global protein changes in the SOD1‐G37R mouse model of ALS.

Automating Chemical Reasoning in High‐Throughput Phase Identification With a Probabilistic, LLM‐Guided Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Autonomous laboratories can now synthesize materials faster than experts can interpret the resulting diffraction data. A probabilistic framework combines refinement‐fit metrics with large language model‐derived chemical reasoning to rank competing phase interpretations and flag those unsuitable for autonomous use.

Measuring oxygen levels in Caco-2 cultures

open access: yesHypoxia, 2015
Measuring oxygen levels in three different systems of Caco-2 cell culture.Caco-2 cells were cultured in three different systems, using conventional polystyrene 24-well plates, special 24-well gas permeable plates, or on membrane inserts in conventional plates.

From Flow to Function: Using Different Static Mixers to Fabricate Microarchitected Materials Via Chaotic Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Complex microarchitectures emerge from simple flow‐driven transformations as static mixers iteratively reorient and split material domains. Coupled with diverse deposition strategies, chaotic printing provides an accessible platform for fabricating architected materials that support biologically and chemically relevant processes. ABSTRACT Nature builds

Sesquiterpenes α-humulene and β-caryophyllene oxide enhance the efficacy of 5-fluorouracil and oxaliplatin in colon cancer cells

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica, 2019
The present study is designed to find out if sesquiterpenes, α-humulene (HUM), valencene (VAL), β-caryphyllene-oxide (CAO) and trans-nerolidol (NER), are able to improve the antiproliferative effect of classical cytostatic drugs, 5-fluorouracil (FU) and ...

Inhibitory Mechanism of Escherichia coli Adhesion to Caco-2 Monolayers by Polysaccharides from Bangia fusco-purpurea [PDF]

open access: yesShipin Kexue
In this study, the effect of Bangia fusco-purpurea polysaccharide (BFP) on Escherichia coli adhesion to Caco-2 monolayers and its potential mechanism was studied using an in vitro human colon adenocarcinoma cell (Caco-2) monolayer model.
