Glucosylated caffeoylquinic acid derivatives from the flower buds of Lonicera japonica

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2015
Three new glucosylated caffeoylquinic acid isomers (1-3), along with six known compounds, have been isolated from an aqueous extract of the flower buds of Lonicera japonica. Structures of the new compounds were determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods as (-)-4-O-(4-O-β-d-glucopyranosylcaffeoyl)quinic acid (1), (-)-3-O-(4-O-β-d ...

The Content of Individual Caffeoylquinic Acids in Edible Vegetables

Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 1999
Abstract The presence of 3-, 4-caffeoylquinic acid (CQA) isomers and 3,4-, 3,5-, 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (diCQA) isomers was not detected in the vegetables studied. The content of 5-CQA was then evaluated in 14 edible vegetables. The highest mean value was found in the sweet potato (22.20 mg%).

Tissue age and caffeoylquinic acid concentration in sunflower

Phytochemistry, 1970
Abstract Through the use of one-dimensional paper chromatographic separation, followed by spectro-photometric analysis, chlorogenic acid, neochlorogenic acid and 4- O -caffeoylquinic acid concentrations have been determined in sections of field-grown Helianthus annuus L.

In vivo deodorisation with caffeoylquinic acid derivatives

2006
Ku-ding-cha contained a large amount of the caffeoyl quinic acid (CQA) derivatives, di-CQA, 16.7% in dry weight as well as mono-CQA, 9.2%. A mixture of 3,5-DiCQA and 5-CQA with an apple acetone powder (AP), containing polyphenol oxidase, showed high capturing activities towards methanethiol (MeSH), propanethiol (PrSH), and 2-propenethiol (AllSH).

Antioxidative Caffeoylquinic Acids and Flavonoids from Hemerocallis fulva Flowers

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011
Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in HepG2 was used to screen hepatocyte protective compounds from the flowers of Hemerocallis fulva. Three new polyphenols, n-butyl 4-trans-O-caffeoylquinate (1), kaempferol 3-O-{α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→6)[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)]}-β-D-galactopyranoside (2), and chrysoeriol ...

[Advances in caffeoylquinic acid research].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2007
This paper reviewed updated research progresses of caffeoylquinic acids both in phytochemical and pharmacological aspects. The resources, distribution as well as the chemical structures of monocaffeoylquinic acids, dicaffeoylquinic acids, tricaffeoylquinic acids and multicaffeoylquinic acids are conclusively analyzed.

Microencapsulation of a Natural Antioxidant from Coffee—Chlorogenic Acid (3-Caffeoylquinic Acid)

Food and Bioprocess Technology, 2017
Chlorogenic acids, the main polyphenolic group present in coffee, which include the caffeoylquinic acids, are recognized as antioxidants with growing interest in pharmacological, cosmetic, and food applications. However, they can be easily oxidized and they are also very unstable when exposed to high temperatures.

Caffeoylquinic Acids and Some Biological Activities ofPluchea symphytifolia

Planta Medica, 1994
From the aerial parts of Pluchea symphytifolia, four known and two new caffeoylquinic acids, 1,3,4,5-tetra-O-caffeoylquinic acid and 1,3-di-O-[3,4,-bis-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-cyclobutane-1,2-dicarbonyl]- 4,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid, and two flavonols were isolated and their structures elucidated by mass and NMR spectroscopy and by chemical degradation.

[Caffeoylquinic acid derivatives from the seeds of Vernonia anthelmintica].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2012
Mature seeds of Vernonia anthelmintica were separated and purified by using such methods as macroporous absorption resin, Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC preparative chromatography. Six compounds were obtained and their structures were identified by such spectrum techniques as 1H, 13C-NMR and MS.

A comparative genotoxicity study of chlorogenic acid (3-O-caffeoylquinic acid)

Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology, 1981
Chlorogenic acid, a compound which occurs naturally in many food items, was assayed for genotoxic activity in 3 different test systems: reverse mutations in the preincubation test with Salmonella typhimurium, gene conversion with Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain D7, and chromosome aberrations in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells.
