Hypoxia‐induced vulnerability of the somatosensory nervous system

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Sensory neurons are highly energy dependent and rely on sufficient oxygen availability to maintain metabolic stability and effective neurocommunication. Within the somatosensory system, even modest reductions in tissue oxygen tension impair neuronal respiration, forcing a shift toward less efficient metabolic pathways that ...

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Comparative Effectiveness of CagriSegma, Semaglutide, Cagrilintide and Tirzepatide in the Management of Overweight and Obesity: A Network Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
Tirzepatide 15 mg and cagrilintide–semaglutide (CagriSema) achieve the greatest percent body weight reduction (−17.97% and −17.46%, respectively) and the highest rates of ≥ 20% weight loss versus placebo in this network meta‐analysis of 25 randomized trials.

TrkA abundance is increased in cutaneous nerves in bortezomib‐induced neuropathy

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 4, July 2026.
Cutaneous nerves in bortezomib‐induced peripheral neuropathy (BIPN) show reduced nerve fiber density, increased TrkA expression, and enhanced dermal angiogenesis, highlighting a pathological switch in NGF/TrkA signaling that may contribute to nerve damage and pain. Abstract Tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), a high‐affinity receptor for nerve growth

Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmacodynamics of Petrelintide for Weight Management: Two Randomized, Controlled Phase 1 Trials

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 7, Page 5915-5925, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Petrelintide is a long‐acting amylin analogue in development for weight management. The safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of petrelintide were evaluated in single ascending dose (SAD) and multiple ascending dose (MAD) trials. Materials and Methods Both trials were randomized, placebo‐controlled, and double‐blind.
