Novel camphane-based anti-tuberculosis agents with nanomolar activity

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2013
A series of new amidoalcohols and amidodiols were designed on the base of the camphor scaffold and evaluated for their in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv and MDR strain 43. Some of the new compounds show 25 times higher activity than the classical anti-TB drug ethambutol.

Design of novel camphane-based derivatives with antimycobacterial activity

Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling, 2014
Although tuberculosis (TB) continues to be one of the leading infectious disease killers globally, it is curable and preventable. Despite the existence of safe, well tolerated and effective drugs used in the TB treatment, the interest in new entities, combinations and regimens increases during the last 10 years. Recently, we reported for a new class of

NMR Spectroscopic Study of Camphanic Acid, Rh2[Camphanate]4, and its Adducts with 1,4-Benzodiazepines

Spectroscopy Letters, 1995
Abstract The H and 13C NMR spectra of chiral camphanic acid, lactonc of (1S,3R)-1-hydroxy-2,2,3-trimethyl-cyclopentan-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (1), and dirhodium tetracamphanate complex (2) were completely assigned on the basis of one- and two-dimensional NMR experiments.

Vibrational Absorption and Circular Dichroism Studies of (−)-Camphanic Acid

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2007
Vibrational absorption and circular dichroism (VCD) spectra of (-)-(1S,3R)-camphanic acid have been measured in deuterated chloroform solutions at different concentrations (0.005, 0.045, and 0.200 M) in the mid-infrared spectral range. Experimental spectra have been compared with the density functional theory (DFT) absorption and VCD spectra ...

Synthesis of New Camphane-Type Amides: Potential Synthetic Adaptogenes

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2019
A significant effect of the steric factor on the activity of 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazolide as an acylating agent has been found using the example of acylation of camphane-type monoamines. The predominant contribution of the catalytic hydrogenation as a component of the Schwenk-Papa reaction has been confirmed by the synthesis of 4-chlorobenzoyl ...

CD SPECTRA OF DIASTEREOMERIC α-ARYLETHYLAMIDES OF (–)-CAMPHANIC ACID

Spectroscopy Letters, 2002
ABSTRACT CD spectra of diastereomeric α-arylethylamides 2,3, 4,5 and 6,7 exhibit nearly enantiomorphic CD curves. Interchromophoric charge-transfer interaction between the aromatic and the amide chromophore is observed only in the amide nπ* band region.
