From Waste to Plant‐Based Protein: Impact of Solid‐State Fermentation on Functionality and Protein Extraction of Cassava Leaves

open access: yesCereal Chemistry, Volume 103, Issue 1, Page 59-71, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Cassava leaves represent a significant waste stream in cassava cultivation, currently underutilized in both food and nonfood applications. This study investigates the use of solid‐state fermentation with Aspergillus oryzae, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Bacillus subtilis to modify the composition and functional ...

Effect of a glyphosate-containing herbicide on Escherichia coli and Salmonella Ser. Typhimurium in an in vitro rumen simulation system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine) is the most-used herbicide worldwide. Many studies in the past have shown that residues of the herbicide can be found in many cultivated plants, including those used as livestock feed.

The effects of diets containing rapeseed meal on Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) growth, muscle composition, and physiological performance

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
Sturgeon farming is a rapidly developing aquaculture sector which requires high-quality feeds. As an ingredient of animal feeds, fishmeal is often replaced with cheaper plant-based protein sources, such as rapeseed cake meal, a by-product of canola oil ...

Enhanced One‐Pot Dual‐CRISPR‐Based Assay Lyophilized on a 3D‐Printed Disc for Field‐Deployable Multiplex Bacteria Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 45, December 4, 2025.
An enhanced one‐pot, helicase‐assisted recombinase polymerase amplification (hRPA)‐combined, dual‐CRISPR/uAsCas12a assay is developed and lyophilized on a 3D‐printed microfluidic disc to achieve field‐deployable multiplex bacteria detection. Abstract One‐pot CRISPR‐based detection combining recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) enables rapid and ...

The influence of oil extraction process of different rapeseed varieties on the ileal digestibility of crude protein and amino acids in broiler chickens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The current study assessed the effect of rapeseed variety and oil extraction process on the apparent and standardised ileal digestibility (AID, SID) of crude protein (CP) and amino acids (AA) in rapeseed co-products in broiler chickens.

Detection of Genetic Polymorphism in Growth Hormone Receptor Gene and Its Influence on Growth Traits in Kari and Balkhi Sheep

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 6, November 2025.
Sequence variations in the growth hormone receptor (GHR) gene were associated with growth traits in Kari and Balkhi sheep. Specific SNPs correlated positively or negatively with weight gain, suggesting their potential as molecular markers for marker‐assisted selection to enhance growth performance in local sheep breeds.
