A vehicle type-based approach to model car following behaviors in simulation programs (case study: Car-motorcycle following behavior)

open access: yesIATSS Research, 2019
Traffic simulation models often neglect the important role of motorcycles and assume a flow of various combinations of cars. This paper addresses how much different would be the behavior of a car driver while following a motorcyclist compared to cases in

Investigating the Impact of Connected and Automated Vehicles on Signalized and Unsignalized Intersections Safety in Mixed Traffic

open access: yesFuture Transportation, 2022
Road traffic crashes are a major safety problem, with one of the leading factors in crashes being human error. Automated and connected vehicles (CAVs) that are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are expected to reduce human error. In

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

A new car-following model considering acceleration of lead vehicle

open access: yesTransport, 2016
For decades, the general motors (gm) car following model has received a great deal of attention and provided a basic framework to describe the interactions between vehicles on the road.

Solitons and kinks in a general car-following model [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2013
We study a car-following model of traffic flow which assumes only that a car's acceleration depends on its own speed, the headway ahead of it, and the rate of change of headway, with only minimal assumptions about the functional form of that dependence.

Capability of Current Car-Following Models to Reproduce Vehicle Free-Flow Acceleration Dynamics

open access: yesIEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print), 2018
Microscopic traffic simulation models are widely used to assess the impact of measures and technologies on the road transportation system. The assessment usually involves several measures of performance, such as overall traffic conditions, travel time ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Multi-Vehicle Tracking With Road Maps and Car-Following Models

open access: yesIEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print), 2018
Multi-vehicle tracking is crucial in many applications, such as traffic surveillance, intelligent transportation systems, and advanced driver assistance systems. Most conventional multi-target tracking algorithms are not ideal for multi-vehicle tracking,

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
