Two novel carbohydrate-derived pyridyl (PYOX)- and cyclopropyl (CYBOX)-substituted oxazoline ligands were prepared from d-glucosamine hydrochloride and 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-amino-2-deoxy-β-d-glucopyranose hydrochloride in two steps, respectively. The

Modular hyperthermostable bacterial endo-β-1,4-mannanase: molecular shape, flexibility and temperature-dependent conformational changes. [PDF]
Endo-β-1,4-mannanase from Thermotoga petrophila (TpMan) is a hyperthermostable enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of β-1,4-mannoside linkages in various mannan-containing polysaccharides.

This study demonstrates that pulsed potential electrolysis significantly improves CO2 reduction performance on copper‐nitrogen doped carbon electrodes. The formation of cationic copper sites and metallic clusters as a function of applied intermittent potential leads to notable selectivity changes compared to potentiostatic reduction.

Conformations in polysaccharides and complex carbohydrates
A review is presented focussing attention on the structural molecular biology of polysaccharides and complex carbohydrates, using examples obtained from terraqueous plants, animals, bacteria and insects The type and sequence of the condensation linkages in polysaccharides dominate their conformation, flexibility and interactions The extensive variety ...

A rationally engineered bifunctional photocatalyst is reported, which achieves simultaneous selective oxidation of biomass‐derived 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5‐diformylfuran (DFF) and efficient H2 evolution. By precisely positioning Au and Co3O4 on Zn3In2S6 nanosheet, dual interfacial electric fields are well constructed to spatially separate ...

Crotacetin, a novel snake venom C-type lectin, is homolog of convulxin
Snake venom (sv) C-type lectins encompass a group of hemorrhagic toxins, which are able to interfere with hemostasis. They share significant similarity in their primary structures with C-type lectins of other animals, and also present a conserved ...
