Purification, Characterization, cDNA Cloning, and Bioinformatic Analysis of Zinc-Binding Protein from Magallana hongkongensis

open access: yesMolecules
Oysters contain significant amounts of the zinc element, which may also be found in their proteins. In this study, a novel zinc-binding protein was purified from the mantle of the oyster Magallana hongkongensis using two kinds of gel filtration ...

Tailored Metal‐Organic Framework‐Based Enzyme Hybrids: Immobilization Strategies, Improved Performance, and Biological Applications

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) offer versatile platforms for enzyme immobilization to overcome their inherent fragility. However, challenges such as restricted conformation and mass transfer limitations remain. Advances in precise MOF design can help overcome these obstacles, expanding their applicability across diverse fields, highlighting the ...

Native Taylor/Non‐Taylor Dispersion–Mass Spectrometry (TNT‐MS) Allows Rapid Protein Desalting and Multiplexed, Label‐Free Ligand Screening

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Native mass spectrometry enables the label‐free study of noncovalent protein‐ligand complexes; however, it is incompatible with conventional molecular biology buffers. By exploiting the dependence of flow dynamics on the hydrodynamic radius, proteins are seperated, including protein‐ligand complexes, from non‐volatile salts and unbound small molecules ...

Simple Hydroxybenzene Molecules as Thermally Stable Catalysts

open access: yesChemSystemsChem, EarlyView.
Hydroxybenzene molecules, including tannic acid, catalyze the hydrolysis of p‐nitrophenylacetate (pNPA) to p‐nitrophenol and thioacetylcholine (tAChI) to thiocholine. The catalytic performance is governed by the number and arrangement of hydroxyl groups, as well as polymer formation during incubation.
