Diagnosis of Bone and Cartilage Diseases
2012The aim of this chapter is to review the application of vibrational spectroscopy and microspectroscopy, namely FTIR and Raman spectroscopy and microspectroscopy in the diagnosis of drug- or disease-induced bone and cartilage disorders. The first section gives an introduction on the structure and composition as well as diseases of bone and cartilage and

Matrilins family and cartilage diseases
Precision Medicine, 2018Matrilins are cartilage abandon molecules which are a 4 member of family of non-collagen filamentous network proteins. In cartilage, extracellular matrix (ECM) occupied 95% space which determines the histoarchitecture specific to organ plays dominant role in chondrocyte functions.

[Ochronosis or black cartilage disease].
Revue de chirurgie orthopedique et reparatrice de l'appareil moteur, 2009We report two cases of ochronosis. This rare disease (1/1,000,000) transmitted by recessive autosomic inheritance results from an enzyme disorder. Clinically, the disease begins by black deposits in connective tissue followed by a group of symptoms, particularly involving the joints, and then destructive joint disease affecting the larger joints ...

The development of induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)has enabled the acquisition of patient-specific chondrocytes by converting somatic cells, such as dermal fibroblasts or blood cells, from patients to iPSCs and then differentiating them toward chondrocytes. We can further generate cartilage tissue from iPSC-derived chondrocytes.
