Microbioreactors for Cartilage Tissue Engineering
2015In tissue engineering research, cell-based assays are widely utilized to fundamentally explore cellular responses to extracellular conditions. Nevertheless, the simplified cell culture models available at present have several inherent shortcomings and limitations.

Bioreactors for Tissue Engineering of Cartilage
2008The cartilage regenerative medicine field has evolved during the last decades. The first-generation technology, autologous chondrocyte transplantation (ACT) involved the transplantation of in vitro expanded chondrocytes to cartilage defects. The second generation involves the seeding of chondrocytes in a three-dimensional scaffold.

Nanostructured Capsules for Cartilage Tissue Engineering
2015Polymeric multilayered capsules (PMCs) have found great applicability in bioencapsulation, an evolving branch of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Here, we describe the production of hierarchical PMCs composed by an external multilayered membrane by layer-by-layer assembly of poly(L-lysine), alginate, and chitosan.
