Regulated cascode-based vertical filter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2001
An approach to realise a low-power, high-order, very-high-frequency current-mode filter is proposed. The filter utilises vertical connection of regulated-cascode (RGC) biquads to reduce current consumption. Simulation results of a fourth-order Chebyshev lowpass filter are demonstrated.

A 4.6‐nW, 100‐Hz, 63.88‐dB DR, Second‐Order Subthreshold Gm‐C Filter for Portable Biomedical Applications

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this letter, a 4.6‐nW, 100‐Hz, 63.88‐dB DR, second‐order subthreshold Gm‐C filter has been discussed, and the figure of merit is 14.71 fJ, which is a potential candidate for portable biomedical applications. ABSTRACT This letter presents a subthreshold second‐order transconductor–capacitor (Gm‐C) low‐pass filter (LPF) for portable biomedical ...

AlGaN/GaN Dual‐Gate HEMT Using a High Al Mole Fraction and Thin Barrier Layer

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This article examines the use of a high Al mole fraction (x = 0.34) and a thin barrier layer (t = 11.5 nm) in AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) with both single‐gate and dual‐gate configurations. Single‐gate HEMTs with the current epitaxial structure demonstrated an improved maximum drain current and transconductance, as well as ...

A novel active‐input cascode current mirror with high precision and low power dissipation

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2022
In this article, a novel active‐input cascode current mirror (CM) with high precision and low power consumption is proposed. First, the cascode input structure is employed upon the active‐input CM to reduce the requirement of high‐gain op‐amp.

A Cascode Pair Based on SiGe HPT for RoF/LiFi Applications

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this letter, a Si/SiGe phototransistor fully integrated in an industrial 55‐nm node BiCMOS technology is incorporated in a cascode pair for high‐speed photodetection. After having presented the phototranistor structure, the opto‐microwave performances are discussed and compared with a single stage phototransistor.

A Framework for Online Estimation of High Frequency Converter Circuit Parameters

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper a parameter estimation method of high frequency switching power converters is proposed. Parameters are estimated through measurement of basic circuit voltage and current quantities and using simple feed forward neural networks to establish correlations between circuit parameter variations and general converter performance.
