Image12_Evolution of casein kinase 1 and functional analysis of new doubletime mutants in Drosophila.PDF

open access: yes, 2022
Circadian clocks are timing devices that rhythmically adjust organism’s behavior, physiology, and metabolism to the 24-h day-night cycle. Eukaryotic circadian clocks rely on several interlocked transcription-translation feedback loops, where protein ...

Casein Kinase 1 Regulates Ethylene Synthesis by Phosphorylating and Promoting the Turnover of ACS5

open access: yesCell Reports, 2014
Summary: The casein kinase 1 (CK1) family participates in various cellular processes in eukaryotes, but CK1 function in higher plants remains largely unknown.

Functional characterization of 42 CK2α de novo variants associated with Okur‐Chung neurodevelopmental syndrome

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Okur‐Chung neurodevelopmental syndrome (OCNDS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder associated with mutations in the gene coding for Protein kinase CK2α. In this work, 42 variants of CK2α associated with OCNDS were characterized in vitro. This included determination of catalytic activity and CK2α/CK2β‐interaction as well as an assessment of evolutionary ...

Roscovitine-Derived, Dual-Specificity Inhibitors of Cyclin-Dependent Kinases and Casein Kinases 1

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2008
Cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and casein kinases 1 (CK1) are involved in the two key molecular features of Alzheimer's disease, production of amyloid-beta peptides (extracellular plaques) and hyper-phosphorylation of Tau (intracellular neurofibrillary tangles).

Structural Basis for the Interaction between Casein Kinase 1 Delta and a Potent and Selective Inhibitor

open access: yes, 2016
Casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) and its closest homologue CK1ε are key regulators of diverse cellular growth and survival processes such as Wnt signaling, DNA repair, and circadian rhythms.

A Nutrient‐Responsive LuxR Regulator Orchestrates Effector Gene Expression Across the Legionella Genus

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
LexR1 is a LuxR‐type regulator that links nutrient sensing to effector gene expression in Legionella. Activated by a casamino acid‐derived ligand, LexR1 directly controls multiple effector genes using a conserved regulatory element present in numerous putative effectors across different Legionella species.

Glycogen synthase (casein) kinase-1: tissue distribution and subcellular localization

open access: yes, 1985
The distribution of glycogen synthase (casein) kinase-1 (CK-1) among different rat tissues and subcellular fractions was investigated. Using casein, glycogen synthase and phosphorylase kinase as substrates, CK-1 activity was detected in kidney, spleen ...
