Regulation of Caspase-9 by Natural and Synthetic Inhibitors
Tight regulation of caspase-9, a key initiator of apoptosis, is required to uphold cellular homeostasis. Although it is controlled on a multifactorial level, misregulation of this process does occur, which is a characteristic of a variety of diseases from ischemic injury to cancer.

Engineering Highly Cellularized Living Materials via Mechanical Agitation
A mechanical agitation strategy is developed to engineer highly cellularized living materials, achieving cell densities of up to 1 billion cells per milliliter. By precisely tuning properties such as stiffness and toughness in blood clots, the approach is validated in both in vitro and in vivo studies.

BX‐001N, a polyethylene glycol‐conjugated bilirubin 3α nanoparticle, is the first GMP‐grade, synthetic bilirubin‐based nanomedicine. It effectively attenuates acute renal injury, facilitates subacute renal recovery, and suppresses chronic fibrosis after renal ischemia/reperfusion injury via anti‐oxidant and immune‐modulating activity.

Caspase-9 Activation and Caspase Cleavage of tau in the Alzheimer's Disease Brain
Accumulating evidence supports a role for the activation of proteolytic enzymes, caspases, in the Alzheimer's disease (AD) brain. Neurons committed to apoptosis may do so through a mitochondrial pathway employing caspase-9 or through an alternative ...

Bee Venom Inhibits Prostate Cancer Growth in LNCaP Xenografts via Apoptosis
