Photomicrographs depicting immunohistochemical staining of caspase-9.
For immunohistochemical analyses, brown colour indicates specific immunostaining of caspase-9 and light blue colour indicates nuclear haematoxylin staining.

Molecular, genetic, virological, and biochemical analysis in combination with global proteome and phosphoproteome profiling and functional assays were applied to study the role of PR130 in the context of HSV‐1 replication. The observations reveal that host‐intrinsic mechanisms regulate HSV‐1 replication and highlight PR130 as a susceptibility factor of

Apoptosis triggered redistribution of caspase-9 from cytoplasm to mitochondria
Caspase-9 is an apoptosis initiator protease activated as a response to the mitochondrial damage in the cytoplasmic complex apoptosome. By fluorescence labelling of proteins, confocal microscopy and subcellular fractionations we demonstrate that caspase ...

An integrated computational screening strategy identified ursolic acid (UA) and 18β‐glycyrrhetinic acid (18βGA) as a self‐assembling food‐derived molecular pair. The resulting carrier‐free nanoparticles (UA‐18βGA) showed synergistic antiparasitic activity, reduced combined toxicity, and host‐protective anti‐inflammatory effects in zebrafish and murine ...

The Dimeric Caspase-9 Can No Longer Be Activated the Same Way as the WT Caspase-9
(A) Increasing amounts of Apaf-1 (residues 1–570) led to a corresponding increase in the catalytic activity of the WT caspase-9, but had no effect on the activity of the dimeric caspase-9.

This study reported renal‐clearable bio‐orthogonal near‐infrared fluorogenic probes (BGRs) that specifically imaging and urinalysis of granzyme B for dynamic evaluation of RCC immunotherapy. BGRs not only differentiate immunotherapeutic responses in orthotopic RCC mice, but also enable sensitive optical urinalysis of granzyme B in clinical specimens ...

We establish a tBid‐mediated cell ablation system in axolotls, achieve rapid and efficient ablation of multiple cell types, including muscle stem cell, spinal cord cell, and connective tissue (CT) cells. We investigate the role of CT using tBid‐mediated CT ablation and identify its essential role for limb development and regeneration.

Transcriptional silencing of uPAR and MMP-9 activates caspase-3, caspase-9 and PARP.
Activity of caspase-3 and caspase-9 in Daoy and D283 cells was determined using A) caspase-3 and B) caspase-9 colorimetric activity kits. Total cell lysates collected from transfected cells (with and with radiation) were collected, incubated with the ...
